We have this amazing freshman player, Jerkaila Jordan, she's already one of the best players in the Conference. Looks like a special player. I hope we don't waste her four years of eligibility being stuck in mediocrity without any NCAA tournament appearances. Lisa Stockton seems to have a lifetime contract without any accountability or urgency to win.
Yep; she's been consistently rewarded for mediocre teams, so that's what we get. I finally gave up 2 years ago when, in early August, I saw her and one of her assistants on a Pensacola beach right before classes started.JerseyWave wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 10:11 pmWe have this amazing freshman player, Jerkaila Jordan, she's already one of the best players in the Conference. She had 2 staff openings this year, which gave her the opportunity to try to change things: filled with an ex player and a journeyman coach from below .500 Texas State.

I was disappointed in the coach hires as well. It was a real opportunity to upgrade.DrBox wrote: ↑Wed Dec 16, 2020 8:22 amYep; she's been consistently rewarded for mediocre teams, so that's what we get. Who recruited this amazing young woman? What if we had hired Barbara Ferris? Would that have been a bad hire, as an ex player? This thread started by praising Jerkalia Jordan, it appears she's got the talent to be a great, great player.

Tulane wins by 16 with a big 4th qtr. It appeared that the Lions were gassed in the last few minutes. Southeastern only dressed 7 players. (COVID issues?) They were picked 6th in the Southland conference, but gave the Wave all they could handle for most of the game. Wave picked 3rd in AAC.

Not only lose to ECU, but look dreadful doing it. Missed free throws, poor defense, poor shooting. Swap the players, it just never gets any better.
Most importantly the team does have one stud freshman. We don't want to lose her to transfer b/c she knows the coach has retired on the job .

Small time facilities for small time programs.
That's the thing - she had 2 openings on the staff, and didn't make a serious effort to reenergize the program. She shouldn't make Tulane fire her: she should have retired last year (actually 5 years ago).
Absolutely agree.

The only disturbing part of the win was that Houston absolutely laid down in the 3rd quarter. They took bad shots and literally stood and watched Wave players dribble through them for layups. Tulane built a 20-point lead. In the 4th quarter, Houston started playing aggressive, full-court defense and the lead was quickly cut in half. Ball handling continues to be a real problem for this team (and program). They can not handle pressure on the ball.

Women lose to South Florida for the 16th straight time. 72-53.
USF is the one decent team left in the conference. We beat three shit teams in a row and many were ready to give LS an extension. Then we get our asses whipped. No surprise.
