I really have no idea how this game will pan out. Maybe we win, just keeping hope alive, and all of us hanging on, for this season.

Temple 38 Tulane 24. The AAC losing streak continues, and the losing streak to Temple continues going all the way back to 1935. Not sure why everyone is so optimistic we'll win this one, we always save our worst game of the year for Temple.

These two premier programs should use this game to celebrate the first Sugar Bowl ever played.

That sounds about right. For the end of the first quarter. This game is going to be WAY over 24 points, Temple cannot stop the run and Tulane cannot stop anything. Temple might throw for 400 yards and rush for 200 more. The two teams will combine for more points than their first meeting in the first Sugar Bowl a few minutes into the 2nd quarter on the way to a final score of:
Temple 47
Tulane 34
I hope I'm wrong and the scores are reversed.

Kick them in the Temple-21 before they kick us in the —-Tulane-31.
Temple qb is hurt, defense is tough.DfromCT wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 8:15 amThat sounds about right. For the end of the first quarter. Fortunately the DE who tore Claybrook up ,Quincy Roche, moved onto Miami. They also lost most of that defense to graduation. The QB is hurt. Looking good for the greenies.

What defense is tough? The TU that's giving up 33 ppg or the TU that's giving up 36 ppg? Their QB is a game time decision, hasn't practiced so the backup has taken the first team reps all week. For a team averaging 300 ypg passing, facing our matador defense, I think the scoreboard will be lighting up like a Christmas tree even though it's Halloween. You can have the last laugh if I'm wrong by about 3 PM on Saturday.

This is the part of the season where Tulane ropes us back in. We'll win the next two against the bottom of the AAC, and then Memphis will drill us to close out at 5-6.

Even though Tulane is 0-7 in the last seven games against AAC opponents, we do pretty well against the spread, particularly when we're the home team. ATS we are 13-7 in the last 20 games and 6-1 in our last 7 home games. When we're the favored team, we're 9-3 against the spread in our last 12 games.
Although the point total has gone over in 5 of our last 6 games this season, Temple's effective pass defense and also their QB injuries will affect this.
Temple has gone OVER the spread in 4 of their last 5 games. They have won only 2 of their last 6 games and only 1 of their last 6 when playing on the road.
Temple is a good passing team but their QB Russo is out with a shoulder injury. They have two redshirt sophmores: Trad Beatty hasn't thrown a pass this year and Re-al Mitchell has thrown four. Mitchell is a three-star transfer from Iowa State and is a dual-threat QB who has had some success running the ball. There appears to be no clear choice for QB2 so don't be surprised if we see both on Saturday. Temple is not a good rushing team, so the edge goes to Tulane. Defensively, Temple has been effective defending the pass. Tulane has been...ahh...ineffective.
With Temple's injuries, I like our chances. Bet Tulane to win, Tulane to cover the spread, and the total to go UNDER. Final score Tulane 31- Temple 20.

What do you say if Russo plays? Last I've read is it's a game time decision.GreenLantern wrote: ↑Fri Oct 30, 2020 8:22 am Even though Tulane is 0-7 in the last seven games against AAC opponents, we do pretty well against the spread, particularly when we're the home team. Season-to-date, Temple's passing yards per game is almost double our output with Pratt. If an uninjured, unimpeded Russo were to play I would go with this: Tulane wins straight up, Temple covers the spread and the OU goes over.DfromCT wrote: ↑Fri Oct 30, 2020 3:14 pmWhat do you say if Russo plays?
