here is a preview for the SELU game that is currently still scheduled to happen

Tulane vs. Southeastern Officially Off
The game should be moved to that Saturday. Everyone is trying to get more time to ramp up in getting ready for the season due to the loss of off season training time. If fans are allowed to attend the students will be in town as there is no Labor Day holiday in the school schedule this year. As for the rest of our fans a lot fewer will be doing any traveling. For those still working it helps avoid conflicts.

I don't think there's going to be fans, not sure about students. Maybe the athletes' families? Who knows.

ULL would have a mutual open date if their south land opponent cancelled. . . It would be a fight but I think we could take them

Here is an article which claims Southland teams can play non-conference:

Lol. All about the money. There you go. If you can play non-conference why can’t you play conference? Obviously you’d assume you’d be safer playing at home. So now you drag the season out (counting practice) for almost a year. Makes no sense.frpaulnola wrote: ↑Thu Aug 13, 2020 8:06 am Here is an article which claims Southland teams can play non-conference:

If that’s true then no doubt SELA will travel to NOLA and play before an empty stadium. Tulane will take a financial beating unless ESPN pays to televise.

And, SLU football has no player to date tested positive for Covid-19?https://wgno.com/sports/southeastern-fo ... certainty/
Actually it's not all about the money. This way they can continue to practice and get some games in and then play a limited conference schedule in the spring. No way you can play a full schedule in the spring and then come back and play a full 2021 season. it's a reasonable approach. Mcneese has ULL and N. Colorado. That's not big money games. Those schools have lost out on that for the most part. Tulane wants to play SELA and is willing to spend some for it. We don't pay big bucks like LSU does. We could have easily said we were playing conference only but clearly don't want to.tpstulane wrote: ↑Thu Aug 13, 2020 9:00 amLol. All about the money. There you go. I’m just going by the author’s quote. It makes no sense. Schedule to play all the games. Cancel if it doesn’t work out.winwave wrote: ↑Thu Aug 13, 2020 9:12 amActually it's not all about the money. The plan is an interesting one with the SLC’s eyes obviously on the non-conference money games for its member institutions.

I saw his quote. Doesn't change the fact that Tulane could have got out of the game but chose not to. These kids have been busting their butts and doing everything asked of them so they can play. So the SLC plan allows some immediate reward and then get try to get the full conference slate in later. I too prefer the go forward unless there is a jump in the number of positives but there is always more than one way and this approach does make sense.tpstulane wrote: ↑Thu Aug 13, 2020 9:35 amI’m just going by the author’s quote. SELA not coming to Yulman. Game off. Made absolutely no sense to play only non-conference games. We need to look for another possibility.

idk, Tech is really having Covid-19 problems? https://www.thenewsstar.com/story/sport ... 332681001/
Absolutely did make sense. WF said last week Tulane is so far ahead of the game due to the time provided that we would be ready to play by this weekend. SELA was on the same schedule. So made sense to get some games in that you wouldn't be able to play in the spring.tpstulane wrote: ↑Thu Aug 13, 2020 10:15 am SELA not coming to Yulman. Game off.
