I think mba’s description of Trump “brainstorming” is a good one. And he’s brainstorming because these daily press meetings have run their course, and have largely run out of any useful information. All the participants look worn out, and like they wish they didn’t have to be there.

King Donald tweeted this morning that he's thinking the briefings are "not worth the effort". If only he could come to the same conclusion about tweeting.

That’s the story: he’s brainstorming ? Or was is sarcasm ? Or was it China ? Or was it Obama and Hillary ? I guess I’m not the most fit stable genius so I wouldn’t understand.

The absolute worst thing about this President is that he has normalized let's say shading the truth from the Executive office which has caused the liberal media to come out of their "no bias" closet. As a result, in their eagerness to take him down, they have normalized let's say shading the truth in their professional industry.
Congressional members normalised let's say shading the truth on their end a long time ago.
Now before anybody says, well all presidents and all media have let's say shaded the truth to a certain extent, it was not an everyday widespread practice as it's become the last few years.
My fear is their is no turning back at this point. It will be the new norm.

Media frustrated they can’t control Trump. He likes the confrontation and baits them. Nothing more. There’s not one politician living or dead that didn’t shade things to their benefit. Only difference is that Trump is attacked relentlessly and fights back.
Bush just bent over and took it. Trump doesn’t.

Wrong Jax. The media lost all their credibility when they bent over for Obama, and ignored his shenanigans. They looked the other way on: Fast and Furious (people are still dying from the guns that Eric Holder made available to Mexican drug gangs); the Red Line that Obama set for Syria, and then ignored; for the Benghazi lies that he and Hillary served up to cover their incompetence that cost our Ambassador and other Americans their lives because Obama and Hillary wouldn’t let U.S. armed forces intervene; or when The Obama/Biden administration sent billions of dollars in bags of cash to Iran on a private jet, making it impossible to track how that money was used. Can anyone doubt how the media would act if Trump has done any one of those acts? The mainstream media spit the bit with Obama, not Trump.

Man, from the stats Texas is a huge anomaly. Better watch out the Cajun’s will be coming.

I dug the governor's speech (of texas). Seems reasonable.

Colorado started gradually opening yesterday. Most businesses can open on May 1, except for Denver, Arapahoe and Jefferson counties whose mayor and county commissioners decided to keep their citizens locked up til May 8. All restaurants and bars get the green light on May 15. Social distancing and masks mandatory indefinitely.

So much for the lockdown
Cuomo: Most new virus hospitalizations in NY are from people who had stayed home.

That is an unfair assessment of the data imo.

I wanted to reply in the other thread, but that one is about the 2020 football season and has gone wildly off track. The following is not my $.02. These are just some of the current and scientific facts we do know, with all politics and personal opinion aside.

A FEW FACTS ABOUT HERD IMMUNITY

- Different viruses have different threshold percentages. The magic number is NOT 50% across the board. The more contagious, the higher the percentage. Predictions for COVID-19 are currently around 70%.

- Herd Immunity does NOT imply everyone ultimately will be immune to said virus.

- It is not yet known if we can contract SARS-CoV-2 and develop COVID-19 more than once.

TAKEAWAYS FROM ABOVE

- 70% of the current US population is roughly 229.7 million people. The current infection count is 1.27 million. Do the math.

- The unknowns of re-infection. Think of it like this, after all these years, we still are not "immune" to the common flu. There still exists no vaccine.

- Until more is known about COVID-19, Herd Immunity is not the ideal solution.

Over 50% of the deaths are from 2 states NY and NJ. The rest of the country has been manageable.

It changes every second. It was at one point when they peaked. The majority have come from those two states.
