Wow. This has to make every Tulane fan feel warm and fuzzy inside.
I can't remember the last time the Wave was a 30+ pt. favorite over any FBS opponent, even a UCONN?Bicoastalwave wrote: ↑Sun Oct 06, 2019 3:44 pm Wow. This has to make every Tulane fan feel warm and fuzzy inside.

Boy have times changed and how I still remember "Buffet" Bob Toledo's last game as Tulane head coach on October 15, 2011 before resigning the next day after a bad UTEP team humiliated the Wave 44 to 7 at the Dome.
And rather obviously, Vegas is on to the Wave, too many people are laying the points and taking Tulane. so Vegas desperately needs some money on UCONN board member Scott Cowen's Huskies.

Wasn't there a line for the Missouri State game? I think it was essentially the same as this. Also, I think FearTheWave said it on twitter, but you gotta feel for UCONN. They are essentially in the same place we were ~8-10 years ago. Totally apathetic fan base, blatantly anti-football administration, players/coaches have given up. Ooof, sounds familiar.
That being said, let's go hang 50 on em

So, I still can't recall the last time we were a 35 point favorite over any FBS team, even against lowly UTEP back when we were still in CUSA?

From what I've seen on Twitter and the like, the largest favorite we've been prior to this was 30 points vs USL in 1998.

Amazing the difference 4 years and a competent coach makes.

Robert, I went to that game in 1998 at the Dome, as I am sure you did as well. And, we scored 72 points on USL that night,RobertM320 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2019 2:18 pm From what I've seen on Twitter and the like, the largest favorite we've been prior to this was 30 points vs USL in 1998.

I'll take another 72-20 game.
I was thinking about this yesterday. To put in perspective just how long of a dry spell we've had, I'm 60 years old. Not counting the 1998 season, the last time we started a season at least 4-1 was in 1979. I was the Hullabaloo sports editor that year. Forty freaking years. That's unreal.

Yep, it is not easy being a Wave fan. And, I've made it known many times on this forum for me not hiring Lindy Infante after Larry Smith left following the 1979 season is right up there with saying no to RichRod in 1998.RobertM320 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2019 3:06 pm I'll take another 72-20 game.
