Spread opens Tulane 1 pt. > Houston Cougars (Rotation nos. 303-304 for Vegas sheet)
http://www.vegasinsider.com/college-foo ... las-vegas/
O/U 63.5 pts.
UH, 1-2, “body of work” to date:
1) 9/1 - Oklahoma 49 , Houston 37;
2) 9/7 - Houston 37, Prairie View A & M 17;
3) 9/13 - Washington St. 31, Houston 24.
Sagarin now has the Wave ranked 45, our highest Sagarin ranking since the Bowden/RR era over 20 years ago.(UCF 18, Memphis 38, Houston 59, SMU 60, Temple 63, Navy 67, & Cincy 73) https://www.usatoday.com/sports/ncaaf/s ... 2019/team/ And, when Eagle and I told you before the start of the season this was our best team since ‘98 so many of you didn’t believe us and said instead the Butch Davis coached FIU “Paper Panthers” would “wax” our Green Wave? Under Sagarin’s rating system playing at home we are a 6.15 pt. favorite over the Cougars.
This is the biggest game to date of the Willie Fritz Era at Tulane & we should see on Thursday night full throttle the Will Hall offense. Let’s hope McMillan is “on” for the Houston game, and if so we will handle the Cougars for this AAC West showdown.

Wave755, my preseason prediction was 6-6. I've been correct on the first three games (easey-peasey) but I predicted an L for the Houston game. Should we beat Houston convincingly, I'll be ready to crawl on the bandwagon.
I'll be there on Thursday night, yelling as loud as I can. #RollWave

I was right there with y'all. I predicted 10-2. Let's do this.Wave755 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2019 1:12 pm Spread opens Tulane 1 pt. > Houston Cougars (Rotation nos. 303-304 for Vegas sheet)

I don't know anybody that said FIU would wax the Wave. I know I was in the school of "don't take them lightly." We played very well against FIU and blew them out. But we haven't executed at that level since game 1.Wave755 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2019 1:12 pm Spread opens Tulane 1 pt. > Houston Cougars (Rotation nos. 303-304 for Vegas sheet)

There must be something wrong with those Sagarin numbers for Cincinnati. How can they be ranked THAT low?
Temple much better than their number as well.anEngineer wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2019 7:08 am There must be something wrong with those Sagarin numbers for Cincinnati. How can they be ranked THAT low?
He’s got Maryland #30 and Temple #63.

Those are Sagarin’s numbers as of 9/14/2019? I too was really surprised by the Cincy ranking. Let’s hope Sagarin has it right. And, no surprise UCF is the class of our conference, they look really tough again this year.tpstulane wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2019 7:19 amTemple much better than their number as well.anEngineer wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2019 7:08 am There must be something wrong with those Sagarin numbers for Cincinnati. And, I was pleasantly surprised by our ranking @ 45. And yes, I still remember the “Buffet Bob” Toledo era where for 2011 for final ranking Sagarin had us below Elon.

And, so nice to be ranked above Elon for a change unlike for the "long night" of the Cow/Dick era.
Consensus line moves to Tulane 4.5 pts. > UH. Wow, a 3.5 point move in about 24 hours? Let's hope this new found respect for the Wave is confirmed by our play on Thursday night. And, everyone knows we are as "tough as nails" at Yulman. And, MGM now has the line @ Wave 5 pts. > UH.

I'd be tempted to take Houston +5. That way, I wont be disappointed one way or the other. Either I win the bet or Tulane wins the game. And I could end up with both.

They're not that great so far. Struggled to beat a bad UCLA team at home, got destroyed at Ohio St and beat a so-so Miami oH team.anEngineer wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2019 7:08 am There must be something wrong with those Sagarin numbers for Cincinnati. How can they be ranked THAT low?

Houston should be a FG favorite in my opinion.
I don't like this line at all. I feel like Dana has free motivational material - UH won't come out flat.

Vegas needs to "get some money" on 'dem Coogs; let's hope "the markets" have this right!!!
And by the way, ESPN's "Matchup Predictor" has it Wave 70.9, Coogs 29.1. https://www.espn.com/college-football/s ... e/2/week/4

A couple of sites on vegasinsider now are now at Tulane -5.5
Also noticed the O/U started at 63 1/2 and its now down to 56. Wonder why that is?

I think the 63 1/2 was much too high in the first place. The score figures to low 30s to high 20s. We only gave up 24 to Auburn, in Auburn. Why should a bettor think Houston would score much more than that at Yulman?RobertM320 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2019 7:52 pm A couple of sites on vegasinsider now are now at Tulane -5.5

Yep, a 7.5 pt change in the O/U is a lot; you got me on that one?RobertM320 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2019 7:52 pm A couple of sites on vegasinsider now are now at Tulane -5.5

Probably because Holgarson has made the mistake of taking away King's best attribute by not wanting him to run so that he stays healthy. We've seen that before. Hopefully he doesn't see the error of his ways till after they play us.RobertM320 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2019 7:52 pm A couple of sites on vegasinsider now are now at Tulane -5.5

I'm with you. Could just be my hesitation from years of being let down. I mean, if you look at the Massey composite ratings, we're #57 and Houston is #70, and the vast majority of the individual rankings put us ahead of them. So it seems the consensus is that we're better. I'm hopeful, but not confident. Only two more days.
