Miss state’s QB transfer from Stanford made that a much more difficult game. Still winnable though
🤔, Ya know, we really have been pretty competitive with Mississippi “Cowbell” State in this 21st Century? http://www.winsipedia.com/tulane/vs/mississippi-state
And, after reviewing the history of our rivalry, you can plainly see the toll taken by Rufus “Dufus” Harris for Tulane football beginning with the 1950s. :shakingno:

We're 2-3 against MSU this century. They've won 3 games by a total of 47 points. We've won 2 games by a total of 6 points. I'd rather be a whole lot more "competitive" than that.

And, did you notice we beat these guys 32 to 29 at Starkville in 2006, Scelfo’s last year?

Because a game from 2006 or Rufus Harruis has everything to do with a game in 2020. LOL

Actually, in “record time” Fitts-Hertz-Dannen have righted the Tulane ship for Div. 1 athletics. 8-) 👍🏻

Taulia Tagovailoa from Alabama has entered the transfer portal as he was 5th on the depth chart. Go get him, Willie & Co. He wouldn't be eligible this year, but will have 3 years of eligibility left.

Looks like California, Michigan and Tennessee will all have "virtual on line" classes only this fall... I don't see Tulane--N'western being played

Did Illinois say they're not having students on campus?

I bet most school's will open and play--the economic pressures are enormous. Purdue's board just approved an on-campus opening. Without the football revenue (especially TV revenue) it will be a financial meltdown. Also, without football it gets real easy to forget about the university system, resulting in a drop in donations at exactly the wrong time. Without opening and playing football, there will be massive layoffs and salary cuts in the faculty and admin ranks.

If its a huge hodge podge, as to which schools play football this fall versus those that don't, will schedules be modified and filled by just playing schools with geographic proximity--ala what MLB is doing? All travel by bus, like MLB?

That is one of many plans under consideration.

And then, will ESPN want to modify their contract for the 2020 season? It would be kind of cold blooded considering the likely high ratings for any live sports, especially college football.

Imagine if Somehow Tulane and LSU play this year in football as a fill in game. I would pay any amount of money for that game. LSU has to take a big step back this year. . . right ?

I would love to see us play them but unfortunately they are at a point with their recruiting that they are just reloading not rebuilding.

True. By step back I mean Top 25, instead of where they have been Top 5 and NC.

We'd all like to see them drop way down. We'll see.

Conditions much better last few days in Chicago , now being watched for 14 day drop status .
The 2020 TU/NU game can be moved to NO and the return game can be moved to Evanston if things get good enough in Illinois and Louisiana for play this fall....

Maryland? Really?

Maryland’s HC was at Bama the previous three seasons.
