Early I know, but summer is here, and we need something to pass the time. Give your vote now, feel free to update as the season approaches, and we will lock the voting before the 2019 kickoff.

Going out on a limb at 8 wins, 4 losses. Wins against FIU, Mizzou St., UH, UConn, Memphis, Navy, Tulsa, and SMU.

We are AAC West Champs.

Losses to Auburn, Army, Temple, and UCF.

6 regular season wins with a possible bowl win depending on the opponent. I reserve the ability to revisit this after the FIU game, as that game should serve as a barometer for what to expect.

Steve, thanks for starting this thread during the dog days of summer. Premature? Maybe but "sometimes you have to say WTF"!!

I'm putting us at 7-5. with wins against FIU, Missou State, UConn, Memphis, Navy, Tulsa and SMU.

Then again, I'm sure I'll be wrong about a couple of wins and losses. Still think there's a lot of work to be done to have a consistent offense, but our D should be stout! This is Tulane, we could go 9-3 or 3-9 just as easily.

Not buying that Army is a great force to be reckoned with. Our young d-line passed their baptism by fire pretty well last year. As a defense we have always performed well against their scheme.
I look forward to Army's defense matching up to our responsive offense.

We win one game we shouldn't: Army

We lose two games we should win: SMU, Navy

We squeak into a bowl at 6-6

L: Auburn, Temple, UCF, UH, SMU, Navy
W: FIU, Mizzou St, UConn, Memphis, Tulsa, Army

8-4

We beat FIU. We win all the games we are favored except navy. Additionally we take 3 of these 5: Memphis/ucf/temple/houston/army.

Officially:
L: Auburn, Temple, Memphis, Navy
W: FIU, Mizzou St, UConn, Houston, Tulsa, Army, SMU. . . UCF (and we gain respect from their obnoxious fans).

2020: looks mighty fun

I guess that would be a good problem to have.

How great is the positivity & are the predictions for this season. And while these are reminiscent of charlie browns last words- it doesnt feel like rug (ball) is about to be pulled out from underneath us. Imagine if those grad transfers pan out more like the one we had from LSU than the other from miami.

that and the Veer Offensive that wrecked havoc in the first four or five years of the old SWC after they were admiited...not one school in the SWC has any idea of what speed was, until UH came on board

Very true. The Veer dominated the SWC in UH’s early SWC years. And even before that it dominated many other opponents, including Tulane’s 1973 Astro-Bluebonnet team.

12 Tulane players on the Phil Steele All AAC Team!

I could have seen us with a couple more guys on the list too: Mcclesky ? Jeffrey Johnson ?

That's a shame that they are going to have such a bad Homecoming.

Results and probability of a Tulane win

vs. FIU W (55%)
@ Auburn L (1%)
vs. Missouri State W (99%)
vs. Houston L (35%)
@ Army W (45%)
vs. UCONN W (99%)
@ Memphis L (30%)
@ Navy L (50%)
vs. Tulsa W (90%)
@ Temple W (45%)
vs. UCF L (25%)
@ SMU W (50%)

This schedule is a bit brutal, don't really see a streak anywhere in there.

Pulling out the Houston game, keeping focus and going into the Memphis game 5-1 would probably make that a primetime matchup with the division title in the balance.

7-5, send us to St. Pete to play C-USA ho hum.

Tough schedule with three away games in the Northeast, Auburn and UCF but I expect Tulane to have an explosive offense. We upgraded the offensive coordinator and return most skill guys. Defense should be as good or better with talent and depth on the D-Line. Only question mark is in the secondary replacing Teamer and D Lewis. Anything less than 8 wins will be disappointing to me. Amazing how much Tulane has benefitted from the transfer market.

I loved the UH basletbzall temas too in the 70's but remember more the incredible final score of a UH football game: Cougs 100, Tulsa 6.
