Today's game, opening our conference slate, has been moved up to a 1 PM CST start due to weather.

Here's the preview:

https://tulanegreenwave.com/news/2019/3 ... nnati.aspx

The Bearcats are 9-14 overall, but 2-1 in conference and riding a 3 game winning streak. After dropping their conference opener, they took the next two in Tampa to take the series last weekend vs. USF.

These should be three conf wins for us. We really can't afford to lose a game to the weather.

Tulane is up 16-4 top of the 5th. Isn't there a mercy rule? How's that work?

I think that might only be used in Sunday conference games.

Game one final: Wave 19, Cincy 4. If it had been a prize fight "somebody would have stopped it." ;)

Guerry Smith said there is a 15 run rule for any conference game.

Let’s give Keagan Gilles some props—his best outing of the year.

That was his second good one in a row after his horrible start to the season. Looks like he found himself just in time for conference play. We also got another good outing from Price. He had been battling some injury issues. Hopefully we get the game in tomorrow and get a good outing from Solesky to finish this off.

7 to 1 Cincy after four innings. Starter Solesky “stinks up the place” giving up 5 runs in 1.2 innings.

Cellucci came in and held them finally but we couldn’t take advantage of 14 walks.

2-2 week mid-season against 125+ RPI teams. Not gonna cut it for the postseason.

At some point in his head coaching career Jewett is going to have to sweep the weekend series against lower tier AAC teams like Cincinnati and win two out of three against high quality teams like Ole Miss or UCSB. Until that happens Jewett’s coaching position at Tulane will be tenuous at best.

If I were a betting man, I’d say he’s safe unless we totally tank and finish last in the conference

In 2.5 years with Jewett we have completed 4 weekend series sweeps and been swept 5 times.
We completed 5 sweeps in 2016 alone.

Jewitt is not a major D1 coach.

Is TU a major D1 program? I think so.

TD messed this up IMO.

It’s a tough job but um there are um better um coaches who can um lead an um program to something.........um better based on history, facilities, fanbase and other um advantages.

Everybody take a deep breath, Solesky gave up 5 runs in 1.2 innings. That’s what happened.
