Ten demands from players include this one:
20 percent of total AAC revenue split evenly amongst student athletes in all sports
Good luck with that one.

Risk of spreading covid19 in outdoor stadiums:
5. Outdoor Stadiums for Large Events
Risk on Scale of 1 to 10: 7.54
"I put stadiums in the same category as rock concerts. Even probably higher perhaps than nursing homes and jails and cruise ships. They're similar because they're all congregate settings," Dr. Peter Chin-Hong, an infectious disease specialist at UC San Francisco, told WCCO. What this means is that there are a lot of noses and mouths close to other noses and mouths. Additionally, these kinds of settings can involve alcohol. "All of the sudden you lose your inhibitions. The way I talk about stadiums, when I talk with my colleagues, it's almost like an adult pre-school. It's not pre-school in a pejorative way, it's we have wild abandon, we're free to enjoy each other's company. It's that communal aspect," he said.

I think the "pay days" of not playing the PEE's, is the reason..so I doubt there will be a "spring" seasongreenie78 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 08, 2020 3:47 pmProbably can’t afford to have a season without fans.gbgreenie wrote: ↑Sat Aug 08, 2020 2:45 pm MAC cancels season til Spring!!!

If we hold out, and become the last to throw the season in the crapper, would that make us National Champions? Worth a try!. Crazier has gone on in this cockeyed world.
Report, no college football, season is cancelled!!!

Yes, there's some media speculation, as there has been since March, that the season will be cancelled or postponed. No official announcements by any P5 or the AAC has been made. To date, no conference with a significant TV contract has cancelled their season. I've been saying since April that it's unlikely we play, but my opinion and those of the writers that desperately need something to write about, is meaningless.
And yes, I feel we could lose to USM, who had us on the ropes in the bowl game until Jack Abraham went down. They moved the ball at will to that point.

At the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl for the first time in memory we beat USM at the line of scrimmage.(USM had 58 yards rushing, when is the last time a USM team had only 58 yards rushing against a Tulane team, regardless of their quarterback?), If we play them again this year, we will beat them again at the line of scrimmage. And yes, I too doubt there will be a football season this year.
Excellent CBS Sports article quoting 2 P5 ADs as saying fall season will not happen. And, article also discusses all of the many issues present if the FBS attempts a “Spring Season”? https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbsspo ... -fall/amp/

I just read an article that Alabama spent over $100 million renovating their stadium and crews are working 70 hours a week to get it done in time for their first home game. Construction was delayed a couple of times because of virus outbreaks. They are planning on having fans at their games, but haven't decided how many. Talk about tone deaf!
I think perhaps this week we will have something “on the record” for at least one P5 for where things are heading for this season, if for a season at all. Time is running out for P5 decisions. If even one of the P5s cancel, game over.golfnut69 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 09, 2020 10:00 amany article with "unmamed sources' I take with several pounds of salt, chased by several bottles of TequilaWave755 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 09, 2020 9:43 am Excellent CBS Sports article quoting 2 P5 ADs as saying fall season will not happen.
