The governor of Florida is allowing football stadiums to open FULLY( 100% capacity). The dolphins have said they’re leaving capacity at 20-25%.
I wonder what UF will do next week when LSU comes to town, or what UCF will do when their opponents go to the bounce house. I also wonder what kind of liability there is on this, seems like an egregious super spreader opportunity.
Packed Stadium for UCF game ?
Give people a choice. If they don’t feel safe they can choose to stay home. It’s really that simple.Bicoastalwave wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 5:55 pm The governor of Florida is allowing football stadiums to open FULLY( 100% capacity). The dolphins have said they’re leaving capacity at 20-25%.

Right. Give people a choice. If they feel driving 40mph over the speed limit without a seat belt after having a couple drinks is safe, let them do it. It's really that simple.tpstulane wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 7:34 pmGive people a choice. If they don’t feel safe they can choose to stay home. Exactly. Every time I get behind the wheel there’s a risk I could die from some drunk driving 40mph over the limit but I continue to drive and take that risk.GreenLantern wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 9:52 pmRight. This is not about giving people choices because your choice can kill people. To use Florida as an example, wow, they actually had more cases then all of Europe. Their governor is the perfect example of how not to reopen!!! If someone with aids knows about it and infects someone they could go to jail, covid19 has no penalties for those being reckless and infecting others. The White House is a perfect example. Getting careless in an outdoor activity and infecting who knows how many people beyond the dozens currently infected. Their families and others are at risk. Testing alone is a faulty security and the White House confirms. Mask and peoples actions are what counts. Asking someone if they had symptoms or were in contact with someone with covid19, who actually believes they will be honest. The mayor has taken an early Hot Spot not only defeating the virus but holding it under control. She wants to maintain the progress as the winter surge and flu come into play. Today's 1,000 plus cases could be the beginning. If we get reckless and allow another surge rollback in restrictions or shutdowns and New York is now doing we can see. Cases are surging up north as winter gets closer. Better safe than sorry!!!
Guns kill people also. It’s about allowing responsible people choices and not punishing everyone for the failure of a few that are not. I would like to have the choice of attending a home Tulane FB game like LSU allows in this state and our first 3 road opponents allow in their states.gbgreenie wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 10:54 pm This is not about giving people choices because your choice can kill people. Smoking kills people and we regulate it!!! Second hand smoke kills, second hand breathing of a covid + person can kill, thus we regulate. Obvious people are not adults and do not listen, thus the Rose Garden example. Press Secretary gave her daughter covid from the event!!!tpstulane wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 11:04 pmGuns kill people also. I think a packed stadium is bad optics especially with the amount of cases and daily deaths nationwide. I’m all for allowing fans in with certain precautions especially outdoors, but it doesn’t take much to cause a spike in cases and hospitalizations.

The flu is contagious. The flu is deadly. Yet every winter we all continue to go to work in enclosed buildings where any one of our coworkers could have the flu and pass it on to us. We don't test everyone coming into the building. The vaccine is less than 45% effective most years, and not everyone gets it. In fact, early studies show that people who got the flu vaccine this past year were 36% MORE likely to catch Covid.
"That mantra is the only consistent thing that never needs to ever change for the rest of this program’s existence because that is all that matters & as long as that keeps occurring, everything will handle itself" -- Nick Anderson
That’s right so people that feel that way can stay home.

I totally agree that people now know enough to make their own choices. If masks are such good protection, those who choose to wear them should be protected enough. If not, then we are all just wasting time and looking foolish.
