His teams put a pounding on all of those hi and mighty SWC teams when they were admiited into the conference... I think they won 4 of the first 5 championships they were eligible for...they were not eligible their 1st year in the conference..my cousin played DB/Safety for his team that played in the tangerine bowl back in the day

That UH team may well have been the best team in the country at the end of the '73 season--they were a machine.

They really were. Yeoman was the master of finding overlooked talent, especially hidden in the East Texas piney woods. And invariably his teams had blinding speed. Yeoman was both a fantastic recruiter and coach.
