Big day in general for Tulane and the AAC.

Wave started the day winning a big out of conference game at Army pretty easily.

Navy came back to beat Air Force after blowing a 21-9 lead.

Memphis won in a high scoring game at ULOL-M 52-33.

Those 3 games should keep our rankings above the ACC after this week.

In conference play, USF won easily at UCANT. And SMU came back from being down 30-9 in the 4th quarter to beat Tulsa 43-37 in 3OT. Helluva come back and keeps their unbeaten record intact.

Also let's not forget Temple winning at ECU 27-17 and of course Cincy holding on to beat UCF.

Interesting to see how the numbers look like tomorrow on College Football Reference.

Again, I think Tulane is in the mix of 6! Tulane, SMU, UCF, Cincinnati, Memphis and Temple. At this point I think you could put them in a bucket and roll them out and see where they land. Until it plays out, I'd have to say Cincinnati is the leader, with SMU and Memphis close behind. Memphis knows how to win, which is something I think this Tulane team is still learning. But if our offense starts to mature, we could be right there not only competing for a Championship but winning one. We need to eliminate the tendency to shoot ourselves in the foot.

Agreed. I think Cincy has the inside track to winning the East, West is going to come down to SMU, Memphis and Tulane. I do think Houston could be the spoiler here. You know how conference games goes, and they hate SMU. Of course, if we take care of our own business, there's a chance not only would we make the AACCG, we'd host it.

For that to happen, we need to play a whole lot cleaner games. We will lose multiple games if we don't stop shooting ourselves. If we played cleanly yesterday, we win that game by 4 or 5 touchdowns. If we play like that for any of our remaining games after UConn and we'll probably lose. The good news is we're 4-1 and have yet to play our best football.

After UConn, we can beat any team on the schedule, but any team can beat us as well.
