Considering the year we are having, I really needed a feel-good story about football. Here it is:

https://www.nytimes.com/2021/11/15/us/r ... -team.html

Imagine a football team that never huddles before a play and communicates solely by using hand signals. There is no public address system and no play-by-play commentator. There is no national anthem before the game. A sign-language interpreter serves as an intermediary between the coaching staff and game officials. The officials wave their hands to stop a play.
Many teams try to use hand signals to call in plays, but they are no match for the Cubs, who communicate with a flurry of hand movements between each play. No time is wasted by players running to the sidelines to get an earful from the coaching staff. No huddle is needed.

The coaches also say deaf players have heightened visual senses that make them more alert to movement. And because they are so visual, deaf players have a more acute sense of where their opponents are positioned on the field.
The team was featured at the Chargers-Vikings game on Sunday. And, by the way, they are undefeated after 11 games and are the highest-ranked team in their Southern California division. They won their last game 84-12 after playing their second string for the entire second half. I feel this is a Hollywood movie in the making.

There is a School for the Deaf and Blind in St. Augustine, Florida and it is inspirational to watch these kids play.
They play very good football, rarely ever miss a snap count, tackle well and play hard for 60 minutes.
