The Road to Omaha 2021
He recruited that group but clearly couldn't coach them . He was at Tulane for 5 years and no Regionals. That's not acceptable unless your an ass kisser and choose who it's ok to fail and who its not.

Nobody said it was ok, but that class may have been the group that turned it around for him.
To be fair He didn’t really get a chance to coach that group. They weren’t going to come in and lead us anywhere as freshman.
He had 5 years. Same would apply to Jewett. You certainly don't want Jewett to have a 6th year. Same applies to Jake. He's not the HC there. Give credit where it is really due.Profoundwizard wrote: ↑Thu Jul 01, 2021 12:02 amNobody said it was ok, but that class may have been the group that turned it around for him.

Dabo Swinney had 5 years as an assistant coach at Clemson and it was nothing special. Took over as interim, then full time head coach and the rest is history.winwave wrote: ↑Thu Jul 01, 2021 12:07 amHe had 5 years. Same would apply to Jewett. Gautreau deserves no credit at Mississippi State because he’s an assistant but you want to give him all the blame for his time as an assistant at Tulane? You really are dumb.
One of Gautreau’s 5 years coaching at Tulane was as a volunteer assistant too. Hard to fault him for 2010 when he didn’t recruit a single player on that team nor was he the hitting coach or the pitching coach during the season

How to translate winwave : Cannizarro Cannizaro Cannizarro rah rah rah sis boom ba !
President Fitts , B of A , it's put up or forever hold your peace time . Make Tulane ATHLETICS relevant and top 30 again .
Never said to give him all the blame. I just pointed out that he had plenty of time here to help mold a Regional team and he didn't. Hopefully for his sake he's learned a lot under his HC and is better for it. He should be getting a HC job after this and he'll have a chance to prove himself. As to Dabo in his 5 years as an assistant there they won 9 games twice, 8 games twice and 6 games once and went to a Bowl game every year. One would have to be dumb not to see the difference there.Profoundwizard wrote: ↑Thu Jul 01, 2021 12:18 amDabo Swinney had 5 years as an assistant coach at Clemson and it was nothing special. I just stated the facts of his time at Tulane. As usual that upsets you and you attack.
