True, OSU is also a "diploma factory."mbawavefan12 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2020 1:35 amThere are 60k students on campus.Bicoastalwave wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2020 1:14 am The Ohio State Unive. . . Oh who are we kidding- football factory. This isn’t a higher learning institution.
It may be a football factory for players in the football program, but, like most if not all of the B1G, OSU is a pretty damned good academic institution as well. As pointed out in the post above, it's a very large flagship state University, that's a hell of a few steps academically above most of the true football factories in the SEC. It's currently ranked #54 by USN&WR, or two places higher than Tulane was two years ago.mbawavefan12 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2020 1:35 amThere are 60k students on campus.Bicoastalwave wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2020 1:14 am The Ohio State Unive. . . And the best School of Dentistry in the country as well as an excellent undergraduate university . The AAC will never approach the B1G academically , nor will the SEC , ever .DfromCT wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2020 11:29 amIt may be a football factory for players in the football program, but, like most if not all of the B1G, OSU is a pretty damned good academic institution as well. According to the ARWU rankings published by Dentistry Today, Michigan's dentistry school is no. 1 and OSU didn't even make the top 25 list?https://www.dentistrytoday.com/news/tod ... s-for-2018nawlinspete wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2020 2:06 pmAnd the best School of Dentistry in the country as well as an excellent undergraduate university . That's Fitts!DfromCT wrote: ↑Fri Feb 14, 2020 8:05 am Ok, it was more than two years ago. But at the end of the Cowen error/start of the Fitts(FIFY) era we were tied with about 4 other schools (including UConn) at 56th in the USN&WR rankings. And regardless of where we were, OSU is a hell of a fine academic institution, as is most of their B1G counterparts.
Oops! Yeah, you right. Sometimes, Siri's auto corrections get past me in my posts.
