Re: Conference Logo

Who is going to take the initiative and make a TU colored logo? Say green A with TU blue star?

Re: Any basketball news?

So a definitive list of Bball recruits would be super, along with a brief summary of stars and other offers. So with all these transfers we did not secure one or did I miss somehting?

Re: Jay & Jazz Ferguson offered by Tulane

This year is so big to build recruitment momentum, huge huge huge. CJ has been putting together classes with smoke and mirrors, time to put up some results and I think they can/will. I also thought he same with Bball and baseball......State of Tulane indeed.

Re: Conference Logo

Is the star pointing to the northeast supposed to indicate a bias to that part of the country? Yes, because it was probably thought up by the same people who designed the SAT & ACT. There was ALWAYS a northeast bias with those tests, wasn't there? What? No one in the northeast even takes the ACT.

Re: NCAA baseball

Jones has to get some hitters in here. Our pitching, which was pretty darn good, was under pressure game after game as we scrounged for a run here and there. ULL basically beat no one other than Sun Belt teams all year, but they didn't struggle with the ULMs....they just hit the hell out of them [/...

Re: 1st time ever Tulane fails to have .300 hitter

Like I said, when hitting on that turf its important to have guys who can hit the ball out the park consistently, we obviously don't have that. I didn't say that was the only or main reason, talent, mental approach, coaching, etc are all major reasons we cant hit. I don't think we'd be a great hitt...

Re: Latest basketball commit

Am I crazy or is there no way this kid is 6-10? Look at the tape.

I still think next year will be tough but I am pleasantly surprised with EC's recruiting hustle. Of course, we won 6 conference games with two all conf type players, so expectations are obviously sky high with this staff.

Re: Football summer

Moses was a beast at Iowa before transferring to TU! Of course no one has any idea what Devenport will turn out to be, the key IMO is how motivated he is to be great. The fact is that the competition in the current CUSA is just such a massive drop off from the SEC, just a gut feeling, but I see Dave...

As I said in another thread 14 private schools and the SEC gets too much credit. The big schools have established a degree of a monopoly.

Re: 1st time ever Tulane fails to have .300 hitter

The BCS is hurting the ability for schools like TU to compete, but between our assets in place, salary , endowment etc....you can certainly win if you understand the landscape and bring in the right people. You cannot explain away or excuse 5 years without something as simple as an NCAA bid, it is n...

Re: Football summer

If there is enough room to practice on the baseball field, I would say use it. It is a lot easier than shuttling players around. I question if there is enough space though. When it comes to team situations, you do not need that much space. Just need to make sure you have all the proper markings of ...

I think ECU needs to beat USM too, right?

Thought we were going to blow this one, hard to trust anyone in the bullpen right now.
Yes, my bad. Very unlikely.

Re: Tulane vs USM

I want the best for the kid but maybe that performance brings Rizz back for another year. Just as the bats have not developed, two highly recruited pitchers, Kyle and Randy, have either regressed or remained stagnant from a development standpoint. Changes need to be made, not sure what (if any) wil...

Re: Stephen Alemais update(Now with BA top 250 prospect list

http://ht.ly/aYdTS MLB recommended draft slotting bonus. Alemais would be mid sixth around $175k. Rizz may slip with the late injury but is likely gone. That $175K would be interesting. I'm sure he'll also want Tulane tuition at $60K a year as part of any deal. So to sign him I'd bet he'd want Bonu...

Watch out, up to 6th, hope I don't jinx this.....but the course is either windy or they moved the pins cause everyone (accept Auburn and Tulane) are over par. Playing at English Turn can only help this team if there is wind. Now in 3rd place! But we are playing the back nine first which has played ...

Re: Jones second losing season

I am as disappointed as everyone else, but Jones is the best baseball coach we have ever had. Cowen/Dickson did not hire him, as he is a holdover from the Emporer who hired Perry Clark, Mack Brown, Tommy Bowden. (I can't believe I am defending Steamin' Eamon, but quality is relative here) Cowen has...
