Re: FOOTBALL TRANSFER PORTAL 2023

on3.com says that WR Will Sheppard from Vandy is 20% chance to land at Tulane. 80% Miss State. He's 6'3 and from Mandeville. He's got 21 TDs and averaging close to 700 yards over the last 3 years. Would be a real nice pickup

Re: FOOTBALL TRANSFER PORTAL 2023

We can track attempts to pull back players from portal and from other schools here. To start the discussion, I looked at Houston vs Tulane portal. Tulane has 7 players in portal, maybe 3 that are significant losses, 2 medium, 2 not so big a deal, IMO. Houston has 8 in portal and already lost 2 with...

Re: Jon Sumrall - New Football Head Coach

This has to be a top 5 Tulane football day in the 21st century!

Wow! The Wave is turning 8-) 8-) 8-)

This was my dream for awhile. Hiring Sumrall, and getting into the CFP will finally get Tulane into the ACC where we belong! ITS ALL FINALLY HAPPENING

Re: Jon Sumrall

Please, please, please, please! The WF era has changed the course of this program. Hiring Sumrall would cement that change. Even if he's not as successful as we all hope he will be, just the fact that we can and do go out and get by the far the best candidate shows that Tulane football is for real. ...

Re: Troy Calhoun of Air Force

Troy Calhoun is a great coach. He’s done a lot with not that much at Air Force, with their rigorous academic and military requirements. He’s won as many bowl games there (7) as Tulane has in the history of their football program You’ve said it perfectly. “He’s done a lot with not much”. That’s the ...

Re: Mike Aresco is retiring

Memphis, Tulane, USF and maybe Rice are all that is left that has any value and I think Aresco probably sees that eventually happening. UTSA is quickly becoming the next UCF. FAU could quickly become the next Houston. Not all is doom and gloom. We've watered down the conference for sure. But some o...

Re: New HC profile

The only coordinator I wanna see considered is Shiel Wood, and thats in order to keep players from jumping ship. If we can keep our D, Hughes, and a couple skill positions. Theres no reason we can't reload for 2024, definitely 2025. We don't have time for a new coach to come in and spend 3 years bui...

I was thinking the same. A year ago he catches it and we somehow pull a rabbit out of our ass. This year we can't get it in from the 2 yard line.

This years team could've been top 10. If it wasn't for the OC.

Same ineffectual play calling all year long. Each game we got rescued by Pratt's 4Q heroics. Except for the 2 teams we played that were above mediocre.

Someone explain to me—we are a 3.5 point pick but espn has smu at 72% chance to win?!?!? The computer models like SMU a whole lot more than the bookies do. Not just the computer models, generally— their model uses FPI. You should see the FPI top 25 for how seriously to take it. https://www.espn.com...

Same as its always been, win the AAC championship and we're into the NY6.

Wouldn't mind seeing Houston go for Jamey Chadwell though. Seems to be a much better fit for Houston than WF.

Www.TheAthletic.com Pratt would be the #1 portal QB but is expected to go pro. He’d probably get millions in NIL money should he go to the highest bidder. Michael Pratt, Tulane: Pratt would be considered the No. 1 quarterback on the market among many Power 5 coaching staffs who’ve been hoping he’d ...

The longer this goes the more risky losing him it becomes. They have already interviewed Traylor twice with apparently no offer. So, it would appear they are holding out for talking to WF as their first choice. Not good for us. They fired Holgorson 4 days ago. Still quite early. Could be more thing...

Re: Transfer QB's

Even if we hold onto Fritz, the offensive line will get worse next year (shockingly). If we plan to reload and 3-peat as regular season champion, it would be very silly to not pick up a transfer QB. Ibieta is too risky with his injury history. Horton may be the real deal but far from sure. Warner is...
