Re: Greenies clinch series 10-3
8 of 9 teams make the conference tourney, it is not considered "Making the Postseason". According to that definition and logic we've been in the postseason for basketball for 23 consecutive seasons, why do we keep firing basketball coaches when we make so many postseasons.

Re: Greenies clinch series 10-3
There are 9 teams, 8 make the tourney. Making the tourney should be a given for Tulane baseball. Rick Jones himself would very likely agree with that assertion. If there's anything to celebrate it's that this team hasn't thrown in the towel like so many Tulane football teams when faced with adversit...

Re: IF (and it is a VERY BIG IF) this were to happen, . . .
If you consider 4-8 a football alternative. Tulane wouldn't have an attendance problem if they won, I've heard the Saints argument before and its B.S. Nobody goes to Tulane games because we suck. By the way, the Saints aren't going anywhere, the Benson are pot committed in the CBD. I don't consider ...

To be honest if "Tom" graduates from Jesuit most of his friends are going to LSU and that's why he's going there. Very few if any Catholic League graduates go to Tulane, most of them go to LSU. Like it or not Tulane isn't an option for 90% of New Orleans high school graduates.

Re: tu no 14 ranked ladies golf team ncaa tournament
So we went from saying during football season during the early 90's "At least basketball season is about to start". Then we began saying during basketball in the late 90's and early 2000's, '"At least baseball season is about to start." Then we began pinning our hopes to Women's ...

Re: If TU announces funds for stadium, How long will it take
I guess what I'm trying to say although admittedly not very clearly is: A) I don't think they are trying to raise money B) I don't believe there is any 1, 2, or 3 people out there willing to donate $40 million alone or combined to a new Tulane stadium. C) I think that secrecy has turned out to be a ...

They give them out in Baton Rouge too for LSU games. It's just a larger crowd so its not as prevalent. At Tulane games its like shooting fish in a barrel. I had a few friends get them before LSU games during college. At a school like LSU where every game is sold out and the student section is sold o...

Re: If TU announces funds for stadium, How long will it take
It's going to be hard to get to 50% without announcing that they are trying to raise money. Maybe they could get to 50% alot quicker if they publically produced a plan and asked Tulane fans for contributions publically. They say $60 million I say $90 million so lets say its $70 million. That means t...

Re: MIPS
I would suggest a different approach. The state brought down a huge part of the Alcohol Tobacco Control during Mardi Gras to hand out MIP tickets. They handed out a few hundred I think and made a big deal of it. A month ago Cannizaro came out and said they were probably going to throw them all out f...

Re: If TU announces funds for stadium, How long will it take
I'm just saying they aren't going to come out one day with zero notice and say we got $60 mill in the bank. If you're asking how long it will take to build it once they raise the money I would say 2-4 years.

Tulane's most important athletic programs: 1. Football 2. Football 3. Football 4. Basketball 5. Baseball Programs that are in the worst condition: 1. Football 2. Football 3. Football 4. Basketball 5. Baseball Our most important program by far is in the toilet. Baseball is 26-19 and while it is certa...

9 teams in the conference, 8 make the tournament. If we're celebrating this in our "premier" program we're in deep sh*t.

Re: Only at Tulane
The conference tournament should not be considered post-season or making the post season. There's nothing wrong with saying that. Someone asked in a different post how we should measure ourselves, if we consider making the conference tourney a success that's embarassing.

Personally I think they run the athletic program like any extra-curricular in the sense that they really aren't trying to succeed. It's just an activity to them and not a business or a way to build support or make money. I feel like if they didn't feel like they had to have a sports program they wou...

Re: $60 Million Stadium
We agree on that point for sure. A 25,000 person stadium doesn't make sense and leaves zero room for growth. With the space available or lack thereof I think the best stadium to look at is Georgia Tech's. It's compact and holds 55,000. If you started with two double decks at 32-35,000 and left the e...

Re: $60 Million Stadium
25K is the ONLY number I've heard in the last 2 years. It's one of the reasons I'm so adamantly against it. Of course this is a situation where "MISINFORMATION" is a problem. There's zero openness with this university, everyone is constantly kept in the dark and it leads to fans arguing ov...

I lived in Baton Rouge for 4 years, I liked it more than Houston or Oxford. Service is great and all but even recently we've had articles talking about how New Orleans is becoming a young and old city with fewer and fewer mid career people/families living here because we don't have jobs that pay mid...

Re: $60 Million Stadium
I'm guessing inflation and construction costs don't always necessarily rise completely in synce. I'm also assuming with that being built in 2007 and any sort of Tulane stadium getting built nowhere near before 2016-17 you might have to go back and recalculate.

http://www.palmbeachpost.com/sports/owls/faus-new-30-000-seat-stadium-gets-approval-919847.html $70 million for 30,000. I could be convinced at 35K with room for expansion to 50K, but that to me looks like $80-90 million in today money. From Tulane's numbers it looks like they plan on 25K which is t...

$34 million for a 15,000 capacity, I'd say this supports the 25,000 number as well.

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=5274124 I know Houston announced this in the midst of the conference craze and I dont know how serious they are, but they projected $120 million for a 40,000 seat stadium and 22 suites. Re: $60 Million Stadium
Not that I'm right or wrong but I took it to mean that the $60 million was for the entire complex. What was most interesting to me was that the athletic director said when they started they didn't think it was going to end up costing $60 million which means if we're talking about 60 right now we're ...

Decisions had to be made and it was a very taxing situation for everyone. What I will hold him accountable for is the fact that he refuses to ...
