Re: ULL game 2016

When we play the University of Louisiana AT LAFAYETTE ("UL-L") it will be played on campus in Yulman Stadium. UL-L will get roughly 4500 tickets, which they may or may not sell. It's a whole lot different selling bowl game tickets on a Saturday night a week before Christmas than it is to s...

Re: Staff coming together

I do expect USF to continue its upward trend. Temple is losing key players from their defense that were the heart and soul of their team. They'll definitely drop some. UCONN can play D but their offense has a loooong way to go before they are any type of threat. Tulsa will probably be the same as t...

Re: Staff coming together

Watching the team that Fritz built at GS play the team that Babers built at BGSU... I won't say that we definitively got the better coach, but this GS team is VERY well built and VERY well coached. This not some plodding option team. There is legitimate speed and athleticism, and they would definit...

Re: Staff coming together

:P Clearly, based upon the conversation Coach Fritz had with Jack Abraham, the offense is going to have OPTION written all over it. It's not going to be a pure spread, and definitely not a pro-set. How little or much passing we do is still to be determined, but I would strongly doubt we're going to...

Re: Offer to Ga Southern commit CB-Martial Washington

As I posted earlier, I wish we were setting our sights higher than Georgia Southern level recruits. I want guys who have at least one other P5/AAC offer. Fritz has to step it up to a higher level. No more Sam Houston/Georgia Southern/Sun Belt/Conf USA! Most of these guys that were his commitments a...

Without belaboring the reasons, if he goes to Michigan, Stanford or any school of a similar caliber, he'll likely watch all the games from the sideline. If not the stands, or on TV in his dorm room. unless it's Samford in Birmingham, AL Someone earlier wrote "Stamford" is more likel...

Re: Is Tanner Lee gone ?

Fourcade talking about his nephew, LSU and then he goes into Tulane talk at 1:21:25 Says Fritz offense won't work at Tulane. He doesn't see Tulane winning with that style of offense in the AAC. He says that works in the Sunbelt. Outside of Navy he said you need to throw the ball to win in the AAC. ...

Re: Is Tanner Lee gone ?

Lee had multiple concussions this season and he missed numerous games because of it including his last game. I promise you if he wanted to sit out next year he would be granted a medical red shirt because of multiple concussions. No way in hell could the NCAA force him to play if his doctor thought...

Re: Welcome Aboard Willie Fritz!!!

I think it's quite common for coaches to bring recruits with them. After all, the recruits are committing as much or more to the coach and coaching staff as they are to the school. Houston had about half a dozen recruits follow their (new) coach, including the only 5 star recruit that went to a non ...

Hearing talk at basketball game he maybe going to Stanford or Michigan. With the "crowd" at tonight's basketball game, that conversation might have been across the court! :? While either institution would be great for Tanner, I find it tough to believe that either coaching staff would tak...

I wonder if the entire staff from GaSouthern is coming? I thought (prayed) that the offense was going to be markedly different than what they ran at GaSouthern.

Re: Is Tanner Lee gone ?

Hearing talk at basketball game he maybe going to Stanford or Michigan. I would be more than shocked. He's used THREE years of eligibility, if you count the redshirt year. He'd have to sit out another year, to have one year of eligibility at a D1 school. If he goes to D1AA, or FCS, he can play imme...

That's right, JerseyWave. I'm not sure if it's because he has nothing to do with the Olympic Village or because he's trying to scrap the project in favor of more critical issues for the money sports? I'd love it if upgrading the football facilities, including working out a plan for future expansion ...

I urge everyone to come check out these girls. This team fights hard and tonight's game was easily the most fun I've had in years. We are now 9-3 with 2 wins vs the SEC. The next home game is on the 30th and a conference game vs Houston. Come out! Umm...maybe it's just me, but if I were trying to r...

To follow the RECENT posts in this thread, it might make sense to go back and look at the dates of the EARLIER posts in this thread. Others need to see the difference between Tulane's President and the Football Coach. This is a thread that started over an interview Fitts gave his first day as Tulane...

I just hope the team collectively swings better bats this season. The pitching was very good last year, but too often they had to pitch without the benefit of a lead.

Re: Our New Mens Basketball Coach

Jacobsen has a buyout that would preclude Tulane from going after him until after the 2017 or 2018 season at the earliest. Now, if you look to Butler, you'll find a young, energetic guy that is climbing the ranks very quickly. He would be a very good candidate: http://butlersports.com/sports/m-bask...

Re: Tulane's New AD - Troy Dannen from UNI

16 years is longer than most of the current players can remember. It's time to get us a basketball coach that can make us all look forward to basketball games, with postseason (NIT or NCAA) possibilities every year.

It was a fun game to watch, I was channel flipping with the Jets game. The Appalachian State game, immediately prior to the N.O. Bowl, was very exciting.

I have to say, though, that the Dome looked empty.

That interview with Lenny Vangilder is just awesome. He really wants to stop doing things that don't (and haven't) worked. He all but came out and said "The Tulane Model" didn't work, we're not going to keep trying it. Interesting to note that the Northern Iowa basketball team upset #5 Iow...

T. Jones left Tulane when RD would not hire him in the athletic dept. He was working in the alumni office at the time. He went to his home parish ( St. John (?) as head of recreation I believe. I would be happy if they kept Lionel Washington on board. I think he's an asset on many levels, including recruiting Louisiana talent.
