Re: 19 / 20 MBB Recruiting
What a coup for Coach Hunter to land K.J. Lawson. I will never forget how intensely the Lawson twins were recruited out of high school in Memphis several years ago. All of the blue blood basketball schools wanted to land the Lawson brothers. This is a huge deal for Tulane and should give us a lot of...

Re: Houston takes the Series
It’s hard to see at this point how Jewett makes it past this season. I would imagine that Troy has started compiling a list of candidates that he would like to interview for the position.

Re: Ranking the Basketball programs in AAC
An arena the size of UNO’s would be perfect for Tulane. Of course the state of Louisiana paid for Lakefront Arena while we will have to raise all of the funds for a new arena privately.

Re: Do We Keep Jewett?
Hopefully Jewett does not have a six year contract like Dannen gave to Dunleavy as he really should be let go at the end of the season.

Re: Future OOC Football Schedule/Games
The fan base was not decimated because we stopped playing LSU. The fan base was decimated because we have been consistently losing for the past forty plus years. It looks like we are finally starting to build a winner on the football field but it needs to be consistent winning over the next decade i...

Re: Future OOC Football Schedule/Games
Since we usually play one FCS game per season I would like to see us bring the North Dakota State Bison to Yulman Stadium for a game. Their fans are fun to tailgate with and many of them will make the trip from Fargo to New Orleans for the game. I remember watching on tv a few years ago the FCS nati...

Re: Do We Keep Jewett?
If Tulane fires Jewett it will be interesting in that there will be a lot of pressure on Dannen to hire Riser or Cannizzaro. However Dannen still must conduct a national search to ensure he gets the best candidate for the job although those two will be near the top of the list. I don’t know who I wo...

Make Jewett walk his pathetic self home after this game. UNO, Southeastern, and the mighty Southland Conference have been killing Tulane the past few years.

Re: 2020 football recruiting
With all of the great offers around the country your nephew is receiving I would hate to see him turn those down and go to ULL because he wants to stay close to home. I realize it is his decision to make and I mean no disrespect to ULL but unless there is some sort of personal family issue involved ...

Re: Do We Keep Jewit
We are finally starting to hold coaches accountable for their on-field performance as seen by the firings of Doug Ruse and Mike Dunleavy. Nothing would surprise me right now. I would imagine the chances of Jewett being fired are around 50-50 at this point and really depends on how the rest of the se...

We got blown out tonight by Southeastern. I am sick and tired of us constantly losing to Southland Conference teams like SLU and UNO. It is embarassing.

Re: Moses Wood transferring to UNLV
For once in my life I agree with gbgreenie. Players like Moses Wood were highly rated coming out of high school. Unfortunately we had a toxic culture under a terrible basketball coach in Mike Dunleavy and the zero conference wins and four total wins last season speak for themselves. The horrible res...

Re: Ron Hunter new Tulane basketball coach
When your team wins zero games in conference last year and wins four games all season it is very hard to get upset when any of the players decide to leave or transfer. I wish the young man nothing but the best but this does not faze me at all. It just gives Coach Hunter another open scholarship to w...

Ole Ellisshoe is getting their due karma for not scheduling us this year and thinking we will be their gopher for the Wally Pontiff Classic in future years instead of continuing the annual home and away series.

Re: Ron Hunter new Tulane basketball coach
As everyone already knows Ray McCallum is Hunter’s top assistant coach. However, I am very impressed by all the love and appreciation that Georgia State players and fans are showing to Claude Pardue. Pardue seems like the type of guy that besides being an excellent coach is a really good person.

No disrespect meant to Scheuremann as I think very highly of him but Tulane made the right move in hiring Rick Jones when Brockhoff retired.

Re: One 'Mo' potential Transfer : Moses Wood

There will be no scholarships left for these guys if later they decide t...

Re: Connor Crabtree... He Gone, Too
Does not sound like these guys are on board with Coach Hunter’s win now philosophy and all the hard work that will entail. Even though next year will be a rebuild I hope Hunter completely cleans house and starts over. These guys got used to the easy life, relatively speaking, under Dunleavy and now ...

Re: UNO Game Thread
I hope someone who has Dannen’s ear told him to tell LSU no to us playing them in the Wally Pontiff Classic at Zephyr Field where all the money goes to the LSU charity. It’s either home and away with LSU each season or nothing. If nothing, we have to find a way to work around this in scheduling to b...

Re: Cincinnati Series
At some point in his head coaching career Jewett is going to have to sweep the weekend series against lower tier AAC teams like Cincinnati and win two out of three against high quality teams like Ole Miss or UCSB. Until that happens Jewett’s coaching position at Tulane will be tenuous at best.

The year we were surprisingly left out was because that idiot Ron Maestri was a member of the selection committee and screwed us over. Otherwise we would have made it in. I will never forgive that POS for the crappy way he treated Tulane after Katrina when we were using Zephyr Field.

I agree if we win at least 40 games this year we will get in the NCAA tournament even with a bad RPI. Would love to see us get a shot at Lswho in postseason play since Joe Alleva threw his notorious temper tantrum and cancelled the series over the cox cable broadcast issue. Seems like the Lsuwho fan...

Re: Ron Hunter new Tulane basketball coach
I doubt Sampson will go to Arkansas. Why leave a great city like Houston to live in miserable Arkansas? Tillman Fertitta can match in salary for Houston whatever Arkansas is offering him. Plus Sampson has such a good thing going at Houston that I would be very surprised if he wanted to start all ove...
