Re: Cowen's plan unfolding before our eyes

Sorry for the confusion bag. I moved the post to a new topic, but moved it back to avoid confusion. Post away.  He had me scrolling back up to see where the post went, because I knew I had just seen it! Again, I was really just saying that its the type of thing they would USE to support ...

Re: Cowen's plan unfolding before our eyes

That episode doesn't support Cowen's idiotic view at all. It's like using the example of Enron or Bernie Madoff to support the view that the only way you can be successful in business is to cheat. It's absurd on it's face. There are dozens and dozens of FBS schools who are competitive and are playi...

Re: Cowen's plan unfolding before our eyes

Cowen should be tarred and feathered for destroying Tulane football and allowing Tulane to go nowhere academically. Worse president in Tualne history. Unfortunately, things like this keep happening that support his view that you can't run a "clean" program AND be competitive at the same t...

Re: "Those in charge don't care, why do you?"

Maybe we need to send a link to this article to people like John DeShazier and others at the T-P, and ask them why we're not getting the same types of articles written. The situation is identical to Memphis, except they have NO past tradition to even fall back on.

Re: Attendance Predictions

Announced: Tulane: 19,752 Anyone with a LEGIT 'actual' ? Since announced for SELA was 15K, I guess that means we "distributed" 4700 more tickets. I've got an idea. Why don't we save even more money by not printing tickets, and just open the doors for free to anyone who wants to attend. I'...

Re: First Time Poster...

Dickson is terrible in virtually every aspect of his job. Cowen is a complete buffoon. I don't see how anyone is going to be able to recruit in basketball at Tulane with the horsesh*t facility we play in. Why we built a practice facility before dealing with Fogleman is something I've never been abl...

Re: Open Letter to Scott Cowen & Rick Dickson

And true this individual , because of his business dealing may not want his name out there That's why I think someone needs to talk to him personally, first. The fact that he put enough information in his letter that anyone who wanted to could figure it out must mean he's not trying too hard to hid...

Re: Tammy is "not a columnist."

I understand the frustration but Tammy shouldn't be the target. She is doing a fine job of covering a poorly run athletic dept. Her job as a beat writer is to just cover the teams, the columnists are there to challenge the failure of Tulane's admin. Unfortunately for us the beat writer needs to sta...

Re: Tammy is "not a columnist."

Just wondering about the reworking. I wouldn't want it done without the approval of the original author. The problem is, without the content in the letter that applies directly to him (his background, etc), it doesn't carry the same weight. I would think you would need to start with his approval of...

Re: Tammy is "not a columnist."

Only suggestion I would make that if it is possible to publish the letter as an ad ( which is probably very expensive) that the letter be reworked to be from WE. I am not advocating changing the content, only the"PERSON" of the letter. Just a suggestion. Just wondering about the reworking...

Re: Open Letter to Scott Cowen & Rick Dickson

Can this letter be forwarded to the editor of the Times Picyune and to Ed Daniels at Sportsnola.com for them to comment or publish ? If you forward it to Ed Daniels or one of the other media reporters, they would do the proper thing and "investigate it further". Make a phone call or two. ...

I would like to shake the guy's hand and encourage him to keep up the pressure until Cowen, Dickson, & Toledo are finally out of here for good! I did some research yesterday when I first saw this, and I figured out who it is. He runs Lakeside Bank in Lake Charles, LA. I won't print his name her...

Re: Tammy is "not a columnist."

The thing with Ed Daniels is that he actually has talked about remembering being in the Dome and having to sit in the Terrace for Tulane football games because there were 50K+ in there in the late 70's early 80's. He actually knows how successful Tulane "could be" and he actually wants to...

Re: Toledo has to go

We should've told DJ Banks he was starting at QB this year and ran option with Darkwa, Kelley, and Williams. Im not joking. Maybe we should do it with Blouin. He wouldn't be the first Freshman QB to ever start a college football game. And we should run the spread option, or maybe even the Wildcat. ...

Re: Tammy is "not a columnist."

Steve, I can only imagine what it was like. As you stated, no one is asking her to be a "columnist", just a news reporter. A good reporter can tell when they aren't getting the entire story. A good reporter will dig, and ask the hard questions to get the answers their readers want. Her JOB...

Re: Why can't we play schools like this?

There are some very beatable Big 10 schools out there that would bring more people than SLU and would actually be big wins for this program. Unfortunately from what I saw today I think Memphis is the only team we can beat on the schedule. Not even UTEP? They had to go OT to beat Stony Brook last we...

Why can't we play schools like this?

Man, we need to start filling our non-conference schedule with teams other than SELA. Do you realize Purdue lost to Rice today, and Minnesota lost to New Mexico State, at home? And Indiana has only had one winning season in the last 15 years. I'd much rather see Purdue and Illinois than Marshall and...

Re: Toledo has to go

We have good skill players but horrible lineman. No talent at all. Look at the commits we have on the O'line for 2012. Five commits on the offensive line and none are even close to a BCS offer. I read an article on one of the site about an OL from the northshore....he's got an offer from Wash State...

Re: First Half Observations: Tulsa 10, Tulane 3

But I'd be willing to bet there are a lot fewer FBS players actually earning a degree now than there were 25 years ago. And these are people who are given an opportunity that a lot of other kids don't have; the opportunity to get a college education -- for FREE. You also have more guys leaving earl...

Re: First Half Observations: Tulsa 10, Tulane 3

But the reality is, nationwide, the pool of FBS Division talent AS A WHOLE is not as talented academically as they were 25 years ago, which means a smaller percentage of that pool is even eligible to attend Tulane. 25 years ago there were two division 1-A teams in Louisiana. Today there are five. T...

I am glad I found this forum a couple of days ago. I am sick and tired of my posts on yogwf being edited and deleted. I hope this forum protects first amendment rights. For starters, I wanted Todedo fired last December! It was a huge mistake giving him a fifth year. Now, the number problem with Tul...
