Re: Tulsa game
Team needs to focus on quick passes and draw plays. O-line cant block for anything else. Coaches need to make adjustments.

If they're doing CPR, sounds like he had a brain stem injury from a cervical spine injury. One of the brain stem's functions is to control the function of the heart and lungs.

Re: Rutgers Game Week Thread
With everything that's going on from the Mackey arrest to Darkwa's injury, I expect Rutgers to blow the doors off of CJ's debut. Very pessimistic about the game.

Re: Fall Camp / Practice
Am I the only Greenie that likes the look of the practice uni's more than the gameday's? That solid look is really clean. Our gameday's look sorta tacky to me with that horrible stripe on the tugs and huge "TULANE" across the chest. Maybe just have the "T-wave" where the collar connects instead. :|...

I love the jerseys we have now. I'm ok with the helmets, but I prefer the green helmets we had from 1998-2009.

Re: Did anybody listen to 690 this morning?
It's not about what offense he will run, but about the execution. Look at Harbaugh. He ran a West Coast offense at Stanford and runs it with the 49ers but he pays attention to all the details and his teams execute well. That's the kind of approach CJ needs to have. He first needs to hire a strong s...

Re: Official Curtis Johnson Assistant Coach/Staff Thread
CJ will be his own offensive coordinator. I'd be stunned if he didn't call his own plays.
Randy Shannon is a defensive coach. Miami has always run the pro style offense. Why would he change it when he was the head coach there? He should be the DC over LW because of his experience.

Re: Official Curtis Johnson Assistant Coach/Staff Thread
Q: What are you going to sell to the players? This is a great education. This is a 40 year decision... If you get a degree from Tulane, you will get the opportunity to be taken care of for the rest of your life. Get a great job. This degree holds alot. He is already drinking the Kool-Aid. The educa...

Re: Curtis Johnson to be named Tulane Football Head Coach
I would hope not because CJ didn't have much leverage. However, if he demanded it and got his wish, then its another black-eye against RD and SC.sader24 wrote:Any chance CJ told Dickson he's only take the job if he could stay with the Saints for the rest of the season?

Re: Curtis Johnson to be named Tulane Football Head Coach
No reason for CJ to stay with the Saints. He needs to start his new job now. It doesn't help the Saints or Tulane if he's half-assing both which he will automatically. Can't avoid it. Do the right thing and start the new job now. I'm a die-hard Saints fan and I don't think its in their best interest...

I will support the team every season, but as a casual fan. I won't make the trip from Lake Charles to watch games until I have a good reason to. But yeah, I will still root for the team from my living room or home office.

I'm pretty sure CJ will call his own plays. Wouldn't surprise if runs his own offense. Probably will try to use Payton's offense. At least he's not coaching under Les Miles.

Re: Mike Leach wants to coach at Tulane
I agree OUG. Diaz would be a good hire. Other coordinators to look at are Todd Grantham at Georgia where the defense is 4th in the country in only his second season there and Gus Malzahn at Auburn who's been a successful OC everywhere he's been. Bigger fish are after Malzahn. He can have almost any...
