Re: Lindsey Scott looking for his 4th different school

I heard that Daddy Scott did call WF, immediately after LS went into the transfer portal (and the same time of short Twitter love fest on Tulane), and WF made it clear there would be no role for LS at Tulane.

Re: Houston Game

Against UH, our D needs to focus on containing King—don’t let him run and scramble—force him to pass. If our D line goes after him to aggressively he may well break containment and that’s when he’ll do the most damage.

Re: California lawmakers voted to let NCAA athletes get paid.

Pandora’s Box is quickly opening. The Colorado legislature just announced that they will take up a similar bill in their next session—only they will trump California’s bill and allow direct school payments, not just endorsements. This will cause the big split between the haves and have nots—with mos...

Re: California lawmakers voted to let NCAA athletes get paid.

If this spreads throughout the country, it will be chaos in the collegiate ranks. No way the NCAA , schools, or anybody else can control the bidding war for athletes. There could be many interesting outcomes— would a 5 star recruit want to go to a football factory if he’s likely to only be the 4 th...

Re: California lawmakers voted to let NCAA athletes get paid.

Should that take place then the NCAA should retaliate by eliminating all athletic scholarships in California. [/ Great idea. As I understand the California law, the California schools can’t do anything to keep their players from signing endorsement deals—so a loss of schollies and/or elimination fr...

Re: California lawmakers voted to let NCAA athletes get paid.

The NCAA can lose the PAC 12, and it isn’t really losing a “P” conference. If the PAC 12 is removed from championship play, the other PAC 4, and some of the better G5 schools can readily fill any void that the PAC 12 might leave. Let the crazies in California play with each other.

Re: California lawmakers voted to let NCAA athletes get paid.

California is falling apart, and their politicians screw around with this. To allow endorsement income would create a ripe environment for alumni abuse. Any high heeled alum could pay huge amounts of money to his alma mater's team. If Univ. of Oregon adopted this, I guess Nike would ensure that they...

Re: Tulane loses to Auburn 24-6

https://twitter.com/fearthewaveblog/status/1170523427255414784?s=21 I think it was the defenseless aspect that was the biggest issue all while the ball was gone. Right or wrong, that call is made the same in every college game. He came in too high and too hard. That’s today’s game. Like it or not. ...

Re: Tulane loses to Auburn 24-6

We'll maul Mizzou St., but it won't tell us anything about our primary concerns, McM's passing and whether our WR's can catch the ball when it is thrown to them. The UH game will be the litmus test for McM, our WR's and the play calling. What has happened to McCleskey? Will he start contributing by ...

Was it easy, no, should it have been caught, yes. By by clown. I wasn’t able to watch the 2H, but that ball should have been ...

Re: Tulane loses to Auburn 24-6

McM was awful. He’s just not a good passer—still has a long wind up and rarely knows where the ball is going to go. His long passes are like punts, and any decent secondary has all day to get to the ball. This game reminded me of his UH outing last year. Another stinker like this, and we have to see...

The author of the very nice article before beginning to write apparently drank a couple of large pitchers of Cow/Dick Kool-Aid. Yulman can be made to work, but the Dome was never our problem. I'm afraid the halo effect around cowen will never fade, at this point. Last week I overheard a Kid sitting...

Re: Green Uniforms

Just like Texas’ burnt orange is unique, I wish we would actually use Olive green as our color. We would stand out as the only one using it. Exactly!! It would be really nice if we actually used our school color—true Olive. A contrasting Sky Blue becomes even more important if we wear true Olive. F...

Re: Tulane tears apart the paper panthers 42 -14

Our stable is full of very talented running backs. "Blackwell" has a burst of speed you don't expect from a guy his size. Dauphine is a track star disguised as an RB. Jones has moves that are crazy and a burst of his own. And I haven't even gotten to Booker, and the Frosh (Spears?) McMillan is a se...

The upset could get us there. At the least we'd be getting votes and be close to being in.
And Auburn, even with a true freshman QB, is a vastly better team than Ole Miss or UCLA.

It’s not about being good, in order to get P5 TV contracts. It’s about having a lot of fans, big attendance, and even bigger TV audiences—that’s what ESPN and any other outlets want. Wins are fine, but fans are even better. The wins bring fan bases. Hopefully. But Boise St. has been winning for a l...

Re: Attendance

All posts above are on point. The truth is interest and attendance has been falling for several years. Lots of big stadiums with lots of empty seats. Costs are an issue, but the Millennials just don’t care that much about football. They are into video games, soccer, Formula 1 racing, and hanging out...
