Re: Willie Fritz official to Houston

We get too emotional about coaches here. Outside of Alabama every college football job is a stepping stone to somewhere else or could be, even LSU and Notre Dame. Whether he was going to leave or not is irrelevant, what is relevant is the University did not fulfill promises made that would have elev...

Re: Slade Nagle named Offensive Coordinator

I still believe Willie was running the offense or at the very least telling Nagle how to call the offense. I watched him do it before. He blew several games in previous years where the offense was humming in the first half and went into a shell in the 2nd half. I have no clue if Nagle is any good or...

Re: Willie Fritz to Houston

Pretty much every job in the country is at some point a stepping stone outside of Alabama and Ohio St. Tulane has always had a really tough time understanding that because they don't understand big time athletics. LSU was a stepping stone for Saban to get to the NFL. You don't get emotional about th...

Re: Despite Coaching Tulane Wins over lowly ECU 13-10

I think Willie is weighing in on the playcalling and have all season. It looks and reminds me of the offense before last season but we have been lucky that the schedule is so bad we have been able to survive it. If we were playing Cincy, Houston, UCF, SMU, we would be getting caught.

Re: North Texas GameDay Thread

It feels like at time Willie is back in the OCs ear about playcalling, he kind of slipped up and admitted it in that interview when he talked about Ball Control. We are putting Pratt in bad situations when we run on 1st and 2nd and he's gotta throw on 3rd. I'm not going to complain about 6-1 and ran...

Re: week 5 AP Poll

The game changed when Wood decided to start blitzing. As soon as he started that Memphis starting scoring. As soon as he stopped blitzing they never scored again. Yep. If he stuck to what was working we get the shut out. Of course winwave is right here, he’s always right. Memphis doesn’t have paid ...

Re: Big NO to Gosha

If they don't conduct a legitimate National search for the next AD they will be setting the Department back to where it started under Dannen. You have to use the improvement in the Department and funding to hire a better AD candidate than you were able to hire the last time.

Re: week 5 AP Poll

The problem is Tulane doesn't play in a vacuum. Quite frankly other teams who were ranked behind us have been more impressive than us and have better records than us and better wins thus far. Like it or not there is only one statement game on our schedule that could've shot us up the rankings some a...

Re: week 4 AP Poll

Our only opportunity on this schedule to get ahead of the chains ranking wise was to knock off Ole Miss, had we done that we would be sitting pretty at #17 or so. Outside of possibly Memphis there isn't another opportunity for us to make a move independent of other teams starting to beat each other ...

Re: PLATT/PRATT injuries

One injury that could have been prevented was Michael Pratts. Why we chose not to prevent it and cost ourselves our first win over Ole Miss in 35 years is still something I'm quite confused about. Because in the heat of the battle we didn't take Pratt out 7 minutes after the possession started (wit...

I was at the gate where the Band marches in before the game. 75-100 students rushed in right in front of the band when they opened the gate. By the time they were able to close the gate at least 100 students had gotten through and they were only able to capture one lonesome slow footed fella.

Re: Ole Miss AD frustrated with Tulane

Well our biggest draw for booking home games against big teams is for their fans to be able to travel in decent numbers to New Orleans. Pretending that's not the main reason we are able to attract big teams to a home game is foolish, so yes if you want to have any chance in hell at attracting good t...

Re: Ole Miss AD frustrated with Tulane

Ole Miss hasn't brought 20-25,000 to a Tulane game in decades. They have been 10-15,000 max. The amount of actual seats Yulman has is an embarssment nonetheless. 30,000 seats should be the minimum not the 23,500 we have. You will still see 6-10,000 Ole Miss fans at the game this year.

I bet my GW collective donation dwarfed yours. That’s how bullish I am. I just have an opinion on the roster vs last year’s roster. C’mon man, you can’t handle that? I’ve been a supporter since 1970. Maybe a little harder for me to be as bullish as most on here. That's what you're about? I'll bet I...

Gotta do a real search. Neither coordinator has done anything to deserve being handed the job. The goal is/was to get the program to a point where we don't have a cardiac arrest every time a coach leaves which they will always do after a certain level of success and be able to attract increasingly l...
