Re: UNT Beats Hunter inGame 2 80-76
I definitely agree that Hunter needs to go, but this team isn't all that talented. Cross is a forward who wants to be a PG. Not quick enough with his dribble. Inconsistent. Forbes is only a outside shooter, but he's not consistent. Has bad body language and complains slot. Sion is a average player....

Re: Charlotte Beats Hunter 75-71
There was apparently some enormous social event going on at The Boot. The students were all in western type attire. For us paying customers, it's gotten to be a struggle to watch losses to the former CUSA teams that have better players and better coaching. As for the post-game assessment, coach Par...

Re: Memphis Game Thread
We will pay the price on Sunday. They will probably run us out of the gym, like they did at the end of last season. You're a real genius! Just playing the odds of our poorly coached team and last embarrassing outing against Memphis. You’re obviously easily suckered by one game. Watch how the rest o...

Memphis State's loss to USF...blows a 20 point lead to lose.....looks like Penny pulled a Hunter Yes. I watched it. Was one of those games that they let USF hang around all night. In Memphis also. We will pay the price on Sunday. They will probably run us out of the gym, like they did at the end of...

Re: Tulane Beats Furman 117-110, 2 OT's
We played the equivalent of a FCS team that we should have beaten by at least 15 and blew a 16 point lead to get lucky and win by miracle. It is a win but this game and Miss. St. are rock bottom from a coaching critique standpoint. Poor game management of rotation and starters being rested enough. ...

Re: Furman Game Thread
I don’t know what to say. I guess a win is a win but I feel bad for Furman. They were shafted. Yes. I’m not sure how they put .8 seconds left on the clock when their guy hit a buzzer beater. Then they called a foul and allowed us 3 FT’s to tie it. Had to be the longest .8 seconds in basketball hist...

Great snag. 9 ppg on good efficiency at Georgetown is nothing to sneeze at. The roster is much better top to bottom this year compared to last.

I would much rather have this guy than Davis. Not sure how much of an impact Davis would have, and he is more of a finish product. Daniels is raw and a good building block for the future, much more promise than Davis.

Re: SMU Game 2 Thread
It's always going to come down to whether we can shoot about 70%, in order to win. We have very little offense otherwise. We don't have to shoot 70% to win, don't be silly. But we cant shoot 20% from 3 either. 40% would have been enough to win. Maybe 60% will do it, but we will rarely win at 40%. W...

Re: What if . . . Tulane basketball edition
If Daniels stayed and Hightower still came and made the right choice, Forbes probably wouldn't have come to Tulane. Who knows if Cook still would have come. Daniels, Hightower, and Forbes on the court together likely wouldn't have worked either. It's a fun hypothetical but wouldn't have happened.

Re: A Tip of the Cap To Coach Hunter
D- He has said from the beginning his defense affects our ability to rebound but he's not concerned with it because of the benefits his defense creates. He has stated it multiple times in his tenure. He did it again recently when he admitted his assistants asked him to change the defense and he ref...

Re: A Tip of the Cap To Coach Hunter
Well the lack of rebounding is due to his defense that usually doesn't leave anyone in position to rebound. He said in a recent article that he changed the offense at the suggestion of his assistants. He also said they had asked him to change the defense and he told them no. So unfortunately this w...

Beat a bad AAC winless team (0-7) at home like we should. Need to beat a bad one league win Wichita State next. I thought you were going to start following some team that you like instead of criticizing every win and celebrating every loss. Just pointing out the reality. Had Hunter not blown the no...

Re: Next up - SMU Basketball 1/15 2PM EST
Bad quality all around. Fan support made it feel like a neutral court game. The team didn’t show up either and lost a crucial game with forced shots, turnovers, missed FTs, and bad 3-pt defense. Also the refs sucked too. The team didn't show up? Inside 4 minutes it was a one point game. Call them o...

Re: USF Game
USF is a bad team. This is a game we should and must win from beginning to end and by a big margin. No excuses. Let's Roll and get it done. They are really bad. No athletes, no penetration only seem to launch bad 3’s. They also missing their 6’9” stud out with Covid. Their 6'9" "stud"...

Re: ECU Beats Tulane in OT 88-80
Hunter blew it. Not fouling was inexcusable. With only 7 scholarship players available Tulane should have run them out of the gym. They had more than 7 scholarship guys and were basically at full strength. They were missing 3 reserve post men. The three combine to average 7 ppg in total. Not exactl...

Re: ECU Beats Tulane in OT 88-80
Frustrating loss tonight. Wave had a terrible first 15 minutes. Completely outplayed ECU the rest of the game, and really deserved to have won in regulation. That Cross shot rolling around the rim and out was very unlucky. Newton for ECU took over in OT unfortunately. I expect the Wave to roll them ...

Re: ECU Beats Tulane in OT 88-80
ECU wins with 7 available players. I thought going to OT would do them in with only 7 players. Big missed opportunity here. They didn't have 7 players, they played 8 guys tonight, and those 8 are 8 of their top 9. All of their best players played. These are the men they played without: Alanzo Frink...
