Re: California lawmakers voted to let NCAA athletes get paid.

The schools are not the ones paying the players. Also any existing sponsorship deal the school has takes precedent over what a student could bring in (they gave the sample of the school has an Adidas deal the kid cant bring Nike). No one is quite sure what the ramifications of this bill will be. Al...

Re: California lawmakers voted to let NCAA athletes get paid.

The NCAA can lose the PAC 12, and it isn’t really losing a “P” conference. If the PAC 12 is removed from championship play, the other PAC 4, and some of the better G5 schools can readily fill any void that the PAC 12 might leave. Let the crazies in California play with each other. I don't think the...

"The 1,100 schools that make up the NCAA have always, in everything we do, supported a level playing field for all student-athletes. This core belief extends to each member college and university in every state across the nation." (First sentence of the letter to California Governor) "supported a le...

Re: Tulane loses to Auburn 24-6

House Rule #10: when throwing the ball away, player must be out of the pocket, ball must pass beyond the line of scrimmage, and for SEC competitors, click your heals three times snd simultaneously say, “there no place like home” loud enough to be audible to the back judge. Play is also not reviewabl...

Re: Tulane loses to Auburn 24-6

The catch the Auburn defender made on the throw that McM was trying to throw away was more difficult than the one Mooney dropped in the end zone. And he dropped it, you have to hold onto the ball all the way to the ground. The targeting call was legit, it went helmet to helmet. The call that I coul...

Re: Tulane loses to Auburn 24-6

What’s the difference between the AU catch (the one where the AU player hurt his shoulder) and the Mooney catch in the end zone. Looks like Mooney caught the ball, both knees hit, rolls out of bounds, and ball pops loose. AU wide receiver fights for ball with TU DB and loses but is given the catch a...

All you Fitts supports, where is Fitts on this? Same ole same ole. Fitts is no different than Cowan the info here is correct. Forget about firing TJ, he will leave on his own when the chance happens. Re: Eddie Smith

So what is the next step? Is J promoting from within or is there a search? It's still odd. ES has prior successful head coaching experience, had success as the "hitting" coach and recruiting coordinator at TU. Wouldn't that put him in a good position for the TU HC job should it become available? Or ...

Re: Eddie Smith

I reverse my previous position on AC if this goes thru and if ES was the cause. Really, July to take a "volunteer" position. Thanks ES. Even if TJ gets canned next year, ES would do better to get a full time "paid" position at a D1 school at the close of the 2020 season. But AC needs to come in and...

The signal for 100.3 sucks. Maybe we should take their place on 99.5 who has a very good signal.
Plus, I believe 100.3 ESPN programing is geared to LSU/SEC. The ESPN BR (103.5?) is all LSU/SEC.

If UConn determines that it's unlikely that it will get into a P5, it would sense to deemphasize football and move to the BE. How well-attended are their football games? They've just never struck me as a school that was seriously invested in football. I believe SC was a UConn football player. How i...

Look at the other schools he had on his list. Obviously academics means something to him, with Ole Miss, Duke and Vandy. Guess that's why he chose us over the football factory upriver. Ole miss ranks below LSU in academics according to US News (154 vs 140). I only point this out because I continual...
