Re: Four ACC expansion candidates to replace Fla. ST.

I read that story and I don't think UConn wants any part of it. They tried getting into a multisport conference with the AAC and they paid to get out. They are a basketball school first, second and third. Being in the Big East has gotten them to a #1 ranking and that's where they want to be.

Re: ECU Crushes Hunter 81-67

David Harris has stated that he has hired 2 coaches, so I don't think it's accurate to say that he has never hired a coach.

Re: ECU Crushes Hunter 81-67

the Ed speaks... I have a question, the stands behind the baskets look as though they can be expanded 'upward', loose the windows behind and make a walk way beneath...how man more seats can be added that way...or just blow out the wall next to McAllister drive, which no one drives on and expand the...

Typical opening series with some mistakes and some poor at-bats, but Wave hangs tough and pulls out wins with some timely hits and pitching that kept them in the games. Solid open. Roll Wave

Re: Northwestern Series Thread

Why did they take Price out? I simply do not understand using so many pitchers and taking out pitchers when they have low pitch counts and are doing well. The rubber game of opening weekend against a weak opponent when you are losing is not the time to check out all your potential pitchers. Pitch c...

You really have to wonder what they work on at "practice". The ECU defense is what Hunter thinks his is, but ECU is still able to fight for rebounds.

Re: Going to be a long spring and summer for AD Harris

I tend to agree that Harris is not walking in looking to clean house. He's also not going to look at videos of past games and attempt to make some evaluation of what the situation was when he was not here. I think we can all agree that David Harris seems like a measured, deliberate guy who is not go...

Absolutely, it's too early. It's a new team that has played 2 games in nasty conditions.

Hitters were swinging early in the count and leading to easy innings for Northwestern pitchers. While they should have been coached not to do that, it could be opening night anxiousness. Hopefully so.

Re: SMU Beats Hunter 87=79

Tulane is the worst fast break team I have ever seen. Last night at the 2nd half 12 minute break, Hunter was literally standing with the clipboard in his hand just looking around for more than half the break. I wish I had video of the whole thing. The SMU coach was coaching his players while our pla...

Re: SMU Beats Hunter 87=79

He needs to be fired as soon as this season ends. Anything else is just wasting our time and delaying any chance to really resurrect our basketball program. Our current problems are systemic and recur virtually every game--and that's because they are all coaching related. Hunter is hard-headed abou...

Poor coaching No adjustments No rebounding Ron playbook is a sticky note Lack of talent No interior threat Inconsistent shooting All sadly true but doubt there will be any change by AD Harris. With Conroy's record, it was a lot more obvious that a change should be made. With Hunter, the total picture is not so obvious if you have not lived through it all.

Re: Potential for two-minute warning coming to CFB

Two minute warning stinks in NFL; no reason for it in college. Each team gets 3 TOs per half. That's enough if you use them wisely. The 2 minute warning is a bail out for the undeserving. The ONLY current purpose is extra commercials.

Any "informer" who says UTSA is a favorite for the Big12 should be considered very suspect. It makes no sense. Just because people live in San Antonio doesn't mean they care about UTSA. Should UNO be given the benefit of how many people live in NOLA? To promote UTSA but criticize Tulane fo...

Re: AAC #7

The AAC will eventually bubble back up to the clear G5 leader. The reason is money. So long as the AAC is making considerably more TV money than the others, they will be able to hire better coaches, have higher recruiting budgets and get better TV access. It's the reason we were able to hire Sumrall...

Made Tulane relevant? How? Since Perry Clark, Tulane finished in the bottom half of their conference almost every year. The year prior to Hunter, they won 0 (zero) conference games. Since Hunter, they have been on ESPN and ESPN2 multiple times and won a fair percentage of those games. They are rout...

Re: Memphis Game 2 on Super Bowl Sunday

It's a shame because Hunter gets good players and they play hard for him. He's probably capable, but he's just too stubborn in his philosophy. I wouldn't call him a failed hire because he definitely improved the program and made Tulane relevant. That's something significant given where we were when ...

I still think that ultimately the Universities will demand to know what their return or benefit is to giving a scholarship if they are forced to pay or buy players. Accepting a scholarship will come with a waiver that limits compensation in some way.

Joining the B1G will provide more money but they will never whiff the top 3-4 of the conference. Even though the odds were tough, they stood a much better chance of winning the PAC.
