Re: Line Opens Tulane 3 pts. > FIU

The Beau Rivage sports book is offering Tulane -2. I asked the lady at the sales window and she told me that, surprisingly, there did not seem to be a tremendous amount of interest among the Beau Rivage patrons in the Tulane/FIU game. I would imagine because it's such a small line and there is so m...

Re: 2020 football recruiting

Green means P5s are still actively trying to get them, red means they are not. There is no doubt the ratings are driven by what the P5s want. This compilation does show the quality of the early commit class.

Re: the Underdog game by game preview

Even though the Lindsey Scott thing is a worthy joke, imagine the effect he may have had on where we are now. For better or worse, our inability to get him or other QBs like him, led to the removal of Coach Ruse and a new direction for the offense. If we get Scott, I think we all agree that the firs...

I agree. It's hard to imagine we will keep ALL of these kids, but it's obvious that Coach Fritz and his staff are selling something that is very appealing.

Re: the Underdog game by game preview

You know what. I felt confident of that when I responded. Now I've been contacted by others that Willie has had called out. I've been bullish on this season. Now I'm worried he's lost it. Stick with your original bet. Without giving away too much information, what did those that contacted you say? ...

Let me add this D. I had gone through two medical procedures earlier that day. My family didn't want me to go. Not only did I go but then I pushed myself to stay up late to put that out because I know our fans are starved for info.. The thanks I get is this nonsense from Tulane. Now others have sai...

Re: Fall Camp Thread

It was essentially a closed scrimmage. They are closed for a reason, but they let some supporters in because they trust them. The next step is to not let ANYONE in. If they wanted it public, it would have been open. You can claim it's innocuous, and maybe it is, but the coaches are entitled to the l...

Re: Fall Camp Thread

The biggest news in that scrimmage report was that our passing game is still weak. BFD. We're known as a running team. If that info is going to be a game changer, we're in for a long season. The paranoia of our coaching staff is over the top. Winwave, thanks for the report. Keep up the great work. ...

Can’t we just be excited and look forward to another season without worrying or even discussing Fritz leaving Tulane!
Not on this site. There are the 4-5 regular doom and gloomers who can make a loss out of any win.

I may be mistaken, but I think all of the incentives/concessions that were made after the Katrina threat of moving to San Antonio are all that is left of any agreement. However, the intital $$$'s given to actually buy the Saints, as I understand, has not been repaid...but then again, it's only mone...

Re: 2020 football recruiting

This early commitment thing is really strange. Very few schools have that many and they are all P5s where kids would not figure it possible to get a better offer. You want to think that Willie Fritz and staff are selling something that is really appealing and this program is about to take a quantum ...

Re: #1 recruiting Class in the AAC as of 8/3 !

I am as excited about this class as most of the of the rest of us, but this ranking is based on the fact that we have 21 commits and no one else in the AAC has anywhere near that. Assuming all schools get 20-25 signees in their current range, we would be 5th, behind Houston, Cincinnati, Memphis and ...

Re: Season Tickets

It depends on what section you are in. They have been trying to move as many Tulane regulars as possible to the Westfeldt Terrace on the upper east side. Most are being moved from the west sideline where it started to become more visitors than Tulane fans. You can have the sun in your face for the 1...

Re: AAC Media Day Show with Tulane football discussed

FIU is going to tell us a lot. If we clearly look better and win by 10 or more, we can probably compete for conference. If we struggle but pull it out, it will give confidence but we will probably have to work hard and get some breaks. If we struggle and lose, we're probably a 50/50 conference team.

Just win. 8 isnt some magic number. Win 7-9 games a few years in a row and good things will happen. Plenty of teams have done this in our conference and so can we.
I agree with this. Winning 7+ games every year is a LOT different than winning 8.

Re: 2019 FB Schedule

To build a fan base we need to do something Tulane Football has NEVER done: Win 8 games or more three plus years in a row. I think Fritz can accomplish this, assuming he stays long enough to do so. Let's hope 2019 is the first of a string of 8+ win seasons. Other than teams that just dominate a wea...

We should discuss placekicker in more depth or in another thread. Because that is still one of the biggest ? going into the season. Can we reliably make field goals from 40 yards in ? That's a question we've had since Cairo graduated. It also ties us to the SuperDome. Kickers wanted to come to Tula...

This coaching staff has: 1) Taken joke special teams and made them respectable 2) Maintained a defensive front 7 that withstands graduation without disaster (maybe still getting better) 3) Recognized that they could not get the type of QB needed to run the offense they wanted, so they changed the OC...

There are so few to go around and the premier schools had them. It even noted that it makes lesser D-linemen look better beca...
