Re: Tanner Lee

I've got $100 that says he never takes an meaningful NFL regular season snap. By meaningful snap I mean in a regular season game with his team not up or down two TD's. Put up or shut up . The money goes to TAF whomever wins. Fixed. I think your stance is warranted. It's possible it works out, but L...

Re: UCONN board approves move back to Big East

The knock against UCF both years was essentially they didn’t play any reasonable p5 teams and bad weather cancelled the teams they had scheduled. They had a great win against auburn but that was to end the season. Powers to be can just say it’s a new year blah blah blah. Most people agree that Hous...

Re: UCONN board approves move back to Big East

Just for a ludicrous thought: If Tulane ran the table would they be in a position for a CFP spot? Beat auburn at auburn, Beat UCF, beat memphis away, temple away & Army away & houston . . . Thats got to put us in the mix. Its not happening- but thats disgusting if we wouldnt make it in. Thats a cou...

Re: UCONN board approves move back to Big East

16 teams play in the NY6 and CFP. 16. Why does an independent, regardless of who they are, have to take a P5 team out if they go undefeated? Because that slot would otherwise go to a P5 since Army is not eligible for the G5 slot? Let’s look at 2019: Fiesta and Peach Bowls - Top 4 teams (CFP semifin...

Re: UCONN board approves move back to Big East

This. Army is not eligible for the guaranteed G5 champion CFP Selection/NY6 slot, and, as a result, they would have to get in to the exclusion of a P5. Given 1. that some of the CFP Selection/NY6 slots are guaranteed to go to certain P5 conferences, 2. Army's schedule (2 FCS, a bunch of average or ...

Re: UCONN board approves move back to Big East

I think we should be careful to distinguish between CFP (college football playoff) games and NY6 bowl games. One is the ESPN 4 team invitational (army has no Shot of making this) and then there are the NY6 bowl games that will go to the highest ranked G5 (army has a shot at this). I also feel like ...

Re: UCONN board approves move back to Big East

First of all, I don't think they win in Ann Arbor . But if they did and went undefeated, they'd be one of very few undefeated D1 teams and would earn an NY6 bowl game ahead of a UCF, Boise State, or some other G5 with 1 loss. It happens. They would also be ranked higher than all G5 teams with a los...

How? They’re not eligible for the guaranteed NY6 bid since they are not part of a G5. As a result, they would have to earn a very high rank, and that’s almost certainly not happening with that schedule.

Re: 2019 Early Season Stunnah's

my early season / opening week end pick Utah State on the road over Wake Forest Special Teams will be the difference How big of an upset would that be? Utah State went 11-2 last year, their only losses were on the road to ranked teams by a total of 16 points. Wake admittedly played a tougher schedu...

Re: UCONN board approves move back to Big East

I can see a number of good recruits reconsidering the academies, if there is no barrier to pursuing a pro career upon graduation. The national following, career opportunities and historic pageantry of the academies shouldn’t be underestimated. There will be an incremental difference in who the acad...

Re: UCONN board approves move back to Big East

A lot of UConn fans seem to think them moving to the BE will increase the BE payout from $4m per school to close to $6m. On top of that, they think having their own deal with SNY and playing an indy schedule full of P5s is going to somehow bring them in multi millions more per year, Best of luck to...

Re: UCONN board approves move back to Big East

The issue with UConn is that it was never going to be consistently relevant in football even if it joined any of the 5 existing power conferences. It’s true the UConn won the Big East with 5 losses and was therefore entitled to the Big East’s auto selection bid, the Big East was dying and losing gri...

Re: UCONN board approves move back to Big East

UConn brings nothing to the table for football only membership and kills strength of schedule. UCF, Houston, Memphis, etc. will not allow UConn football to stay around any longer than is absolutely necessary. Look for the AAC to stay pat at eleven members for the foreseeable future. Navy AD and for...

Re: UCONN board approves move back to Big East

That piece needed to be proof read! There's so many grammatical errors, but that's today's media! UConn is making a huge mistake, and their football program (as bad as it is these days) is going to suffer from this. They're also not going to the Big East that the fans wax poetically about. Without ...

Re: UCONN board approves move back to Big East

What are everyones thoughts if BYU comes in as fball only and takes up our spot in the West? I've come to really enjoy our rivals in West division. In the real world, that’s probably not on the table. BYU should be making better money than the AAC in their new deal as an independent and they would ...

Re: UCONN looking to leave AAC for Big East

So...the AAC cannot hold a conference title game unless it adds a team, kicks a team out, or gets the NCAA to change the rules since a conference with less than 12 teams can only hold a title game if it plays a round robin. This should be interesting. Can they waive that for the Big 12 but not the ...

Re: UCONN looking to leave AAC for Big East

But there is a program (with a coaching staff turnover in 2020) that will be the next Boise State and if admitted to the AAC, a perennial threat to both in-state p5 rivals. They are also a natural tie-in to the AAC East. It's the elephant in the room flipping, wake up. Who? ODU Larger media market ...

Re: UCONN looking to leave AAC for Big East

The rumblings are that the AAC will stay at 11 since it probably won't be able to get a program like Boise State. As for BYU, it seems to generally set its bowl tie in at the beginning of the season. It agrees that if it wins at least 6 games, it will go to that bowl, however, if BYU gets a CFP invi...
