Nobody is not giving him a chance. We just recognize that our season hinges upon him being a whole lot better than what he showed at USM.
He was even benched three times at USM. He should be better now, but how much better will he be?

Re: Athlon 2020 Tulane Preview

2019 Navy Team An 11-2 Navy team with wins over an 11-2 Air Force team, a 10-3 SMU team, and an 8-5 Kansas State team deserved to be ranked in the final poll - especially since their only losses were to a 12-2 Memphis team and a 11-2 Notre Dame team. If Tulane did exactly the same thing, it would be...

Re: Athlon 2020 Tulane Preview

If I was a betting man, I would put my money on 3-1. Which would be a very good start. 4-0 wouldn’t shock me, but is unlikely. It would have us all riding on cloud 9 and basking in a top 25 ranking and national attention . . . And miss state fans on suicide watch & calling for leaches head. I think...

Re: Athlon 2020 Tulane Preview

I would be shocked if Tulane started 4-0 or 0-4, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it started anywhere in between those outcomes.

Re: Athlon 2020 Tulane Preview

Interesting that we only have two ranked teams and none in the top 20. Memphis, UCF, Miss State and SMU will all likely spend significant time in the top 25. I also wouldn’t count out Houston, Navy and Temple being there at some point. The most important question though is will Tulane spend any tim...

Re: Interesting Breakdown of G5 Football- Talent Vs Results

Exactly WTH isAVG247 Sports Composite Class Rating? It starts at 90 and goes to 180. I originally read that as 90th place to 180th place, which is how I read that graph. I know now that makes no sense but what heck does? I guess my question is where is the 1 on that scale? That is usually a good po...

Re: Espn rates Tulane as a Tier 4 G5

The issue for Tulane is that it has historically been bad across a handful of conferences, and that although it’s doing better now, 7 winning seasons since 1982 (2 seasons with more than 7 wins) combined with tons of losses to mediocre and below teams does not give reason to place Tulane higher on t...

Re: LSU VS Tulane Football Renewal of Rivalry

Unless Tulane either is willing to market Louisiana recruits to nationally relevant P5s by allowing them to co-host camps or joins an access (power) conference, it should give up the idea of ever playing LSU In football through a home and home agreement. It doesn’t matter what Tulane does otherwise-...

How much would the "access conference" designation really make a difference for the AAC if the conference is not receiving nearly as much media money as the other access conferences? Sure, those conference could guarantee the AAC champ a spot in a major conference bowl (likely against the ACC champ)...

Not excusing Hightower’s actions but this seems like it fits the pattern of over-charging that’s prevalent in much of the country. Is the victim not dead? Maybe he means in regard to how felony murder works? That crime has been around forever, and some people still don’t either understand or agree ...

I wouldn’t be surprised if Hunter isn’t coaching at Tulane the in fall of 2021. As for fall of 2020, that’s probably 50/50 at this exact moment - it depends how it plays out with the media and parents.

Without diving into unnecessary details, there will likely never be a cure since COVID-19 is a “virus” and not just “bacteria”. Generally, viruses cannot be cured and can only have their symptoms treated to the extent that they can be. A vaccine that is available to all is the real goal here. As a ...

Re: Does budget cutting begin in athletics if this continues into the early fall?

Nothing in Title IX requires schools to spend the same amount of money on male and female teams. Nor does it mandate an equal number of male and female athletes. Instead, it requires schools to take measures to make male and female participation on sports teams proportional to the overall numbers o...

Re: Does budget cutting begin in athletics if this continues into the early fall?

Expect all sports to be furloughed with the exception of FB and Men’s and women’s BB until a anti-viral or vaccine is medically proven. Good luck getting the women to go along with that scholarship inequality, unless you're planning to still pay their tuition without them actually competing. Don't ...

Re: Does budget cutting begin in athletics if this continues into the early fall?

I'm very concerned about the fallout of a potential lost season of football. I brought this up almost a month ago, and was poo-poohed. Football pays for the rest of athletics (or at least puts a dent in the load) for most D1 schools. If the 2020-2021 college football season was lost and there was n...

I've been wondering for a number of years what's going to be the spark that flips the switch on University education?
