Re: Jim Harbaugh needs help.

But of course everyone thinks Army isn't very good. OT games against top 10 opponents two years in a row, but they're over-rated! We'd love to go to OT with top 10 teams. Hell, some fans are still talking about a HALF TIME lead we ALMOST had against LSU over 10 years ago. 44 games without a victory...

Jim Harbaugh needs help.

All he needed to do was hire Pete Jenkins as a consultant to teach a crash course in 2 gap technique and Army would have melted away like butter.
But, Jim always knows what's best!

Re: Tulane / Yulman and High School Football

It has been posted in the game thread but certainly belongs here too. The Shrine on Airline just didn't turnout to be a good set up for football much to our benefit. They have some good matchups there especially with our QB commit Ibieta going against Archie's grandson Arch Manning. I have zero iss...

Re: Old School College Football - The Washington Examiner

A nice article but the Dome was never our problem. How many of us complained about the Dome for 97 & 98 seasons? And, most of the people on this board were there at the Dome for 97 & 98. Under Bowden/RR we filled the plaza & loge levels. The atmosphere was just fine and the students made the approx...

Re: 2020 football recruiting

In looking at the 247 Sports site, I noticed that UConn has 9 commits, all 3 stars. You really have to wonder what's motivating these kids. None are from the area, which might lead them to stay close to home. Assuming they do sign with UConn, none have any idea what the football situation will be i...

With a qualification:
If we can put some heat on the qb and cover their large receivers we will stay on this thing.

Re: Auburn vs Oregon

Army and Rice are tied 7-7 in the 4th quarter, at Army. Has Army regressed that much, or has Rice improved? Army wins 14-7. Their 14th straight home win. The third or fourth longest home winning streak in FBS. Yes, they struggled. But the Black Knights of the Hudson are not the one dimensional team...

Re: Tulane tears apart the paper panthers 42 -14

This is so classic of Tulane followers. Coming off a bowl win, we win our first game convincingly against an opponent that was supposed to be an equal, and we are already starting the talk about losing the O. Coordinator, Head Coach and Athletic Director. I agree that Coach Hall is probably not lon...

Re: Tulane tears apart the paper panthers 42 -14

Watching the highlights and reading the articles brings a tear to my eye. We have all waited so long for this. Many of you far longer than I. I know we should measure our excitement but I’m not going to bother. Next week cant get here soon enough. Also is it time we start up the old Hall is the hei...

BFD. A former employee suing for $50k. He's not suing for money, he's suing to get his name back. Do you know what's between Philadelphia & Pittsburgh? (Mississippi) What are your talking about when asking what's between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh? I've spent time in both cities this year on busin...

Team doctors are conflicted between the short term needs of the program and the long term interests of Football players, shocking!

Yes, they are two....three different offenses (veer, air raid & rpo). All different on their own way.

Re: My biggest concern

I understand your point, but Rich Rodriguez's impact on football has far outpaced Bill Yeoman or Emory Bellard. The smashmouth I formation of the 60's, 70's wasn't that much of a fundamental departure from the bone or veer. BTW: The rpo was an outgrowth of the veer. Rich Rod was innovative, but Mou...

Re: My biggest concern

let's look at one hell of a balanced offense...the Wishbone, it was 95 percent run...but you had 4 players who may run with the ball, even then, it was a "spread offense' simply becasue the players were "spread" at the time of the give or pitch ...the D had to defend the middle of the field, "the g...

Re: FIU Game Thread

I don’t think FIU has a chance in hell stopping this running game. As long as McM can hit throws to keep the defense honest, the Wave will score early and often. Bingo! You broke the code. The short play-action pass game is essential with stick routes in zone & rub routes in man. Post-snap identifi...

Complete and utter bullshit. I did nothing to hurt the program. Here's today's ND practice report: https://notredame.rivals.com/news/notre-dame-fighting-irish-football-practice-12-1 Brian Kelly didn't waste a second of anyone's time trying to block that report. In fact he contributed to it. He's wo...

Re: Fall Camp Thread

Butch Davis is going to do what Butch Davis does. He tries to put as much doubt as possible in the head of the QB by hiding his intentions on the pre-snap read, showing man-to-man even when he's playing zone. There is a price to pay for this tactic if our wide receivers & backs are well versed on au...

Re: Cincy Transfer

Tough $hit. That's the way the system works, even though it's faulted every player goes through sitting out a year after transfer. Some get waivers due to coaching changes, medical issues, etc. But most have to sit a year. He can deal with it, and Cincy knew that was the most likely scenario. Whini...
