Re: Wave lands a commitment from Justin Ibieta QB!!!!

Wherever the future Cutcliffe is, is where he'll likely go. Solid human, solid coach, great OC.
We may have a shot if the current staff remains.

Re: UCONN board approves move back to Big East

The schadenfreude Gods will have it in for Army in 2019 after they rejoiced in hanging 70 points on a Houston team that did not have a coaching staff. I hope Army racks up a winning season and finds themselves in a bowl game with any AAC West team that is well acquainted with the "service academy" o...

Re: CBS predicts 2019 Wins

With a real, modern, top notch OC, our QB is back and there's depth behind him, and another year of seasoning for this team, I think we win 8, worst case 7. We finished 5-1 last year after starting 2-5, remember that. I agree. But these analysts are lazy and dint care about tulane. With a steo forw...

Re: UCONN board approves move back to Big East

But going forward, watch out for the services academies now that it looks like any pro caliber players will be allowed to delay their mandatory service obligation until their pro career is over. This may well enable them to start attracting much better athletes--which combined with huge numbers of ...

Re: UCONN board approves move back to Big East

It will be interesting to see how the new staff at UMass turns out a team. This year Umass doesn't play as many P5 heavyweights, but they play some tough G5's. Mark Whipple is a great offensive mind, but he seemed to struggle in putting together a complete staff able to recruit from far afield and d...

Don't fall asleep on ODU Celebrating their first decade of FCS/FBS football. New conference will do wonders for attracting top flight coachiig staff & prospects. They have the capacity to rival UCF. A significant portion of ODU alumni are active & retired US Naval personnel. If they join the AAC it will be a rivalry between the enlisted vs the "door knockers" of USNA.

Re: UCONN board approves move back to Big East

UConn brings nothing to the table for football only membership and kills strength of schedule. UCF, Houston, Memphis, etc. will not allow UConn football to stay around any longer than is absolutely necessary. Look for the AAC to stay pat at eleven members for the foreseeable future. Navy AD and for...

UConn did not move the needle for football fans in Philadelphia. Buffalo to Cincy or Philly is over a over a six hour drive.. Phila. to Norfolk is under 4:45.

Re: UCONN looking to leave AAC for Big East

But there is a program (with a coaching staff turnover in 2020) that will be the next Boise State and if admitted to the AAC, a perennial threat to both in-state p5 rivals. They are also a natural tie-in to the AAC East. It's the elephant in the room flipping, wake up. Who? ODU Larger media market ...

Re: UCONN looking to leave AAC for Big East

Oh. And as much as we want to be a P6. We won't. The AAC won't. It's not going to happen. You want to be included with the best? Then you beat the best and become one of them. I honestly really wish all this P6 crap would stop too. We are NOT a power conference. Never was, never will be. But Vandy,...

The view from New Jersey: https://www.nj.com/sports/2019/06/who-will-replace-uconn-in-aac-ranking-the-top-candidates-army-byu-who-else.html The American Athletic Conference is likely losing UConn as a football member. Re: UCONN looking to leave AAC for Big East

Get used to it, this is just the beginning. When the NFL runs PSA's to encourage participation in youth football and the members of the PAC 12, the B10 and even the ACC scour well trampled regions of the country for talent. You know the jig is up. The consolidation of the P5's was ultimately a move ...

So who could we possibly invite to fill that slot? I know in the past they talked about UMass. I'd prefer Southern Miss to UMass, personally. Not for any specific benefit. I also thought there was talk of Wichita State bringing back football at some point.
