Re: 2024 Football Season Predictions

I would love to be 1-0 every Sunday morning of the football season. Ending 14-0. Who ever thought we would be 12-0 in ‘98? I did. Looking at our schedule before the season and knowing it was year 2 of Bowden/RR, we had a good chance of going undefeated in 1998. I bet a lot of people did, too. I don...

Re: 2024 Football Season Predictions

since I am bored and can't play golf until Sunday afternoon. We can dream- 10-2...split with OU and K-State and have a "oopps" moment...win the AAC championship get seeded #10...the big10 then certifes tulane's certification as an AAU member and extends an invite Not too bad- 9-3...Lose t...

Re: Four ACC expansion candidates to replace Fla. ST.

If Tulane were to pass on an opportunity to correct the worst decision in Tulane history, and possibly in College Athletic History, we might as well stop playing entirely. With the ability to recruit 4-star and an occasional 5-star prospect, and with games being held in the Superdome, it wouldn't ta...

Re: An undefeated Tulane could land the #4 seed in the CFP

I love the idea of making the playoff as a seeded team. But I also remember going 1-0 each week and not getting ahead of themselves. Our playoff hopes could be over by week 3 or 4, probably a higher probability of that than getting a seed in the playoff. 1-0 And I think OU is going to be much improv...

Nice find, 'Nut!

Thats the conference's return for 2022. I wonder if they're on a calendar or July fiscal year? The Cotton Bowl was played in 2023 (side note: there were two played that year!)

Re: Where are you Mr. Slatten?

I expect a tactful statement indicating politely that we are seeking a better conference. There is absolutely nothing wrong or unseemly about that. This. The AAC commissioner just said he has no issue with schools speaking up about their desire to move to a P4. AND NOT SAYING A DAMNED THING TELLS A...

Re: Oliver Mitchell Commits

Agree to disagree. There are very few 5 and 4 stars. So they do evaluate others. I don't think the ratings services watch films and evaluate talent at any of the star levels. But you are right that there are very few 4 and 5 star players about 30 5-star and roughly 120-140 4-star. Unlike what some ...

Re: 2024 Football Schedule

Memphis has the hardest conference schedule going to road games at USF, UTSA, and Tulane plus they go at Florida St. Our schedule is tough OOC with K-State, OU, and a road game at ULOL. Yes, this is not a year we can complain about our OOC schedule. The U-La-La game is no piece of cake, and we're g...

I wouldn't say there was no excuse to lose the SMU game. They were pretty good and we were working hard to win our games. Their emotional level was the difference. SMU got SMOKED by a bad VaTech team. That was us You are right. That was us! They got smoked by an even worse Boston College team. Both...

Re: 2024 Football Schedule

I wouldn't overlook our 3rd and final FBS pre-conference tilt. Going into Lafayette and beating the Cajuns is not a done deal by any stretch of the imagination, particularly if we get off to a 1-2 start and the team isn't confident. You know the U-La-La's will want to beat the only true University o...

Just like Jim Pittman, Larry Smith, Mack Brown, and Tommy Bowden, I find it hard to hold any dislike toward Willie. This group of men above all brought some bright days to Tulane against all odds, then had better offers to elevate their careers and set up their families for life. Most of us would h...

Re: MBB heading to Cancun Challenge Thanksgiving 2024

Should be interesting to see how Hunter spins this tournament as an excuse at the end of the year. Going back to the heat that ended in New Orleans about a month or so prior was rough on the team. The time spent at the pool in that hot tropical sun drained their energy. Then they had to come back t...

I wonder what we could generate in pledged donations contingent upon a P invite? And/Or to fund a bonus for the AD? What would our application pool have looked like had we said "There's a $1 million bonus if we get into a P conference under your leadership."?

Give it a rest? Give it a rest? We do appreciate what he has done, but if you are a fan, who wants the best for your team, how can you “give it a rest?” We’re not asking him to go beat on Gibson Hall’s doors. We’re just asking if he knows anything. Remember, there are times when he comes on this bo...

I think he said give it a rest to people calling him out personally, demanding that he speak for Gibson Hall.
