Re: LBSU Series Thread-Cancelled

Baseball update: The Wave beat S. Alabama and then won 2 of 3 against DBU. Moved up to 18th. We then smoked LSU 10-0. (Fans are still not being allowed in). After the game Manieri declared that LSU would never play Tulane again as it is obvious that there is no interest in the series as evidenced b...

I don't get what Nancy Pelosi has to do with my paranoia of the COVID-19 virus? I hate Nancy Pelosi, I very rarely watch CNN or other news channels. I prefer to read and research information from sources like the CDC, HHS, WHO, etc. There's an abundance of true and accurate information available. A...

It;'s sad that Pistol died too young. It's sadder that Tulane still plays in the same gym.
With a capacity of 1500-2000 less than it had back then.

The FG % numbers are eye openers! Someone said Tulane made 22 layups that night. Seems like both teams were playing "matador defense"!

You know that movie about the tsunami where a bunch of folks were laying on the beach drinking beer and having fun? Then suddenly all the water disappeared. Fish were flopping everywhere. Re: Coronavirus (COVID-19) Discussion

So, 2.5 weeks ago it was a "hoax". Now it's something to look at in the rear view mirror? Glad to see our country, which was one of the slowest in the world to respond to the threat, become the quickest to "peak" and get through this. Wow, especially given the lack of needed respirators (and I'd lov...

Re: Coronavirus (COVID-19) Discussion

Other countries peaked 12-14 weeks after they started isolating. Why would the US peak in 2-3 weeks? The CDC and most infectious control experts say we are still a couple of months from peaking. Giving hope is one thing. Spreading false news is another. He did it at the outset, and it hurt us becaus...

Re: Coronavirus (COVID-19) Discussion

Trump tells the media he hopes to open the country by Easter. Talk about "fake news"!! We're 8-12 weeks from peaking, using models of other countries, most of whom were quicker to react at the outset than the US. In the past few days, the "doubling rate" (how quickly we double the number of positive...

I envy you locals that got to see Tulane athletics as you were growing up. I'm a lifer now, but didn't start paying attention until 1980, arriving as an undergrad in 1981. I'm especially jealous of those of you that got to go to weekly games in the old stadium. I've seen the video of the 1973 LSU vi...

Re: Coronavirus (COVID-19) Discussion

According to the CDC, here in CT where we're starting our 2nd week of mostly self inflicted isolation, we're probably 8-12 weeks from thinking about moving back towards "normal". In other words, roughly 3 months from when folks started taking this seriously. And if we don't lose 1.5-3% of the popula...

Re: Coronavirus (COVID-19) Discussion

I'd also be willing to bet that the rate of growth is a direct correlation to number of tests performed. West Virginia was the last state to have a positive case because it was the last state to administer a state.
