Re: Should Tulane pick a sport to dominate in?

We are one of the few in the AAC that aren't leveraged out of our ass. The top AAC schools look like P5 teams because they are just spending past their means. We could do this too if we charged an outrageous student fee or pulled money from pots that shouldn't be pulled from. I thought Scott Cowen ...

Re: 2020 Basketball Preseason Thread

Food is no excuse for being fat, burn the calories you take in like we expect student athletes to do!!! Aren't you posting in another thread that we shouldn't talk negatively on these boards about current coaches, players and recruits? Isn't this post, from this thread, taking a shot at coach Hunte...

Re: Will Hall

From what I've read, Shaun King doesn't want to leave his home in the Tampa area. I'd love to have him on the staff, but don't know that he's ready to be an OC at this level. He's probably more into broadcasting because it can be done while maintaining and being at his home in FL, and has way more j...

Re: Changing the Narrative

M320: The MNC that Colorado won will always be tainted in my memory by the flag thrown on a late 92 yard punt return by Rocket Ismail. Even the announcers called it a phantom call. It was in the last minute of the game, and would have likely given the MNC to either the Irish or an undefeated Georgia...

You put Pratt on their team and they beat us by 4 TD's.
I'm glad you think so. I still say that, at this time, he's no better than a mediocre AAC QB. Better than what we've had under Fritz, but that's more an indictment of those QB's than anything else.

No doubt about that, win. Our backs my be out of whack from Lucy pulling the ball away once again, but we'll all be there. It's what we do. Don't ask me to explain why.

Re: Tulaned Again, Tulane loses in OT to Tulsa 30-24

The Watts twins are Juniors as they completed JUCO. But you're right, there are a lot of RS Frosh and True Frosh playing. But we thought, given the schedule, we'd be ahead where we are, and tired of leaving wins on the table. I'm not, nor have I ever, called for Fritz's job. But as I've said, since ...

Re: Tulaned Again, Tulane loses in OT to Tulsa 30-24

I still can barely talk about that loss. I turned the tv and my phone off before the Tulsa defender crossed the 50. One thing I have to point out is: As good as Pratt may become, he's not there. A third string QB came off the bench and accomplished more in 25 minutes of play than Pratt has in any ga...

Good listen. I agree with him on a lot of things. Disagree with him on many things. There's this consistent mention of the Tulane fringe. And yes, the majority of that "fringe" posts on this board. But let's be real, the Tulane fan base across the board (not this board) is minuscule. So my argument...

The kid has impressive highlights, and might be our next return specialist in addition to a speedy WR. Watch how many times in a single season he takes it to the house from well shy of the 50 yard line! Watch how his HS coach lines him up wide, almost to the sidelines, and gets him the ball in space...

The opportunity to step up on a night when the game is the biggest event on TV is right there. But Lucy pulls the ball away yet again, same old Green Wave we know and love.

Tulsa 31
Tulane 21

Hope I'm wrong.

Re: Changing the Narrative

I know better then to try people’s minds on an internet message board, especially Tulane fans. But I think what we have seen in these threads recently is rather indicative of why there is lack of growth from the user base & posters here (and on the other board for that matter). I’ll check in and se...

Re: Changing the Narrative

Just one guys opinion but the writer who covers G5 conferences for the Athletic was asked a question about what 10-14 G5 schools would you like to see form a football conference to compete with P5 conferences and he came up with Cincinnati, UCF, Houston, Memphis, Navy, Boise State, San Diego State,...

Re: Changing the Narrative

The Tulsa podcast with JP was an interesting listen. Yes, they both took some shots at posters on the boards, and I think win has it dead on accurate about JP. I never went so far as to call for Fritz's job, but I did and still do question whether or not Fritz can take the program to the next level....

Re: Bowl Predictions

At 6-5 we'd be an iffy selection if bowl games are cancelled. At 5-6 we have zero shot. At 7-4 we're bowling, though it still could be a nobodycares.com type bowl. We don't bring ratings and we can only get to .500 in the conference by winning the last two. Beat Tulsa and we're alive for a bowl game...

ESPN AAC Bowl Predictions: Military Bowl Presented by Perspecta Virginia vs. Tulane Navy vs. Pittsburgh Montgomery Bowl Tulane vs. Charlotte I'd like to see us play both of these games since we only have 11 games! The game versus Charlotte would REEK of a typical AAC letdown loss in a bowl game. We...

Re: Tulsa Game Thread

Great measuring stick for the program in Year 5. This is the type of game we’ve never been able to win. I’d call it a turning point game. If you win then it’s a new level for the program if you lose it’s basically that same old disappointment we all know being Tulane fans and fail to turn the corne...

Is our Green Wave better than we were 5 years ago? Absolutely. but so is the competition in the AAC. Has the perception of Tulane football changed? You folks would know better than me if locally it's changed. (I suspect we're getting a bit more respect in Louisiana, but not much.) Nationally, I don'...

Re: Changing the Narrative

It is what it is. They're 4-1, 4-0 in the conference. You can't talk about how competitive the conference is, then not give them credit. I guess you feel we should have 1-3 Michigan in the Top 25, because they've played such a tough schedule? If we had won Navy and SMU and were 7-2, you'd be bitchi...

Tulsa, while much improved, is another team that is in the top 25 in 2020 that shouldn't be ranked. They're probably better than Army, but they're not one of the 25 best teams playing.

Not wasting my time arguing with you over semantics. To put it simply you’ll more likely to get prosecuted for snorting cocaine because you used a plastic straw not because you used cocaine. Today's game was on ESPN2, which in my mind is every bit of a "national broadcast" as ESPN. Most cable providers have them on back to back channels. I've never seen or heard of a cable package that gives you ESPN without the deuce.

How in the world was Tulane able to get a coach like Jim Barnes?
I think he is easily the best coach in the AAC.
Will the Volleyball season have many games broadcast? Thanks for keeping us informed about the Volleyball team.
