Re: New turf

The end zone was / is a no brainer...an "uptown street car". I would love the field if one endzone said Tulane and the other said Green Wave, with the shadow of the New Orleans skyline (yes, including the Dome) underneath but on top of the blue. Yes, it's stealing the idea from UH, but I like the N...

Re: 1931 Tulane Rose Bowl team

Ummm...didn't Perry Clark win a VERY competitive (dare I say better than the AAC) C-USA? Thirty years ago. How's it gone since then? About as well as our coaches abilities would let them. Dunleavy didn't have a clue about the college game, and couldn't recruit, which was shocking, Conway was a teac...

Re: 1931 Tulane Rose Bowl team

Ummm...didn't Perry Clark win a VERY competitive (dare I say better than the AAC) C-USA? Good point CT. Win, Hunter hasn’t won at the D1 level ? How many ncaa tourneys has he made ? Maybe you can claim he had an easier path (although smaller margin for error), so let’s look at another metric - Has ...

Re: Coronavirus (COVID-19) Discussion

Hard to imagine a sentient being even suggesting injecting disinfectant but this is the same guy who wanted to nuke hurricanes, looked at an eclipse, and thinks windmills cause cancer. I could go on... That's the thing: Trump never made that suggestion . Never. He ASKED A QUESTION of his medical ex...

Re: N'Western 10 game- Big 10 only in 2020

I wonder regarding a conference only schedule. Would any conference consider replacing their OOC games with the conf teams they weren't scheduled to play? For example, we'd be able to play a 10 game season instead of 7? I'm assuming if we go conf only we'd be cancelling the Army game as well. Most ...

Re: Coronavirus (COVID-19) Discussion

I still can’t figure out why Trump will endorse hydroxichloroquine (a prescription drug) and drinking “disinfectant” as a “China Flu” prophylactic but will not wear nor recommend wearing a face covering. He says, “what harm can it do (taking hydroxy)”. What harm can wearing s mask do? Face covering...

Too bad Tulane tossed the old turf. I would have paid $100 for piece of the checkerboard end zone. Big miss there on fund raising. . I still have my brick and seat from old Tulane stadium.
+1. I would have bought a piece of the checkerboards as well.

Re: New turf

Real talk, if Tulane organized the frats/srats to trade their houses for this row on Audobon, how much extra cash would it cost? I know the community would push back but let's assume president Fitts has the political will/tact that CowDick lacked. While the concept and thinking out of the box is co...

Re: Coronavirus (COVID-19) Discussion

I have NEVER in my life voted for a democrat for President. That may change (and I did not vote Trump in 2016). People that dislike Trump are immediately labeled "liberals" or Democrats" by Trump supporters Perhaps we just cannot stand Trump

I'll leave it at that.

How about the lies continuously and endlessly fed to us by the President? How do you know he's lying? His lips are moving. Here's a SAD story about someone who didn't believe in masks, didn't believe in social distancing, was a combat veteran with two tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, no pre-existing c...

Re: N'Western 10 game- Big 10 only in 2020

The highest likelihood (of us playing) is we follow suit and go to all conference as well. Although in a dream scenario we could look for a game @ Notre Dame or BYU. Now would be the time to make that call, if Troy thinks we're going to play and be allowed to play a non-conference opponent. Funny t...

As an independent, isn’t Army still on our schedule? Has the SEC announced a conference-only schedule?
They have made public that they're considering an all conference schedule, but will not make any decisions until close to the end of the month.

Re: N'Western 10 game- Big 10 only in 2020

What if we re-scheduled Miss St and bumped Morgan State in September of 2021. We'd open OK, MSU, Ole Miss, UAB before getting into the AAC schedule!! We'd know in a hurry if we're contenders or pretenders! Something tells me that we'll leave Morgan State in hopes of going 2-2 or 3-1. If we take them...

Re: N'Western 10 game- Big 10 only in 2020

Northern Iowa lost a game that day as well. Iowa St. is preferable, but N.Iowa is just as good but would be an ugly loss if we were not successful. Hopefully Dannen could get UNI to come to the Big Easy. We'd probably have to go to Ames to play Iowa State, but should get a payday. All this is nothin...

The funniest, and most ignorant, posts in this thread are those that hint at COVID-19 being a creation of the Democrats!!!! LMFAO. Does anyone really believe this is going away after the election? The Dems, MSNBC, CNN and the networks created a GLOBAL pandemic? And got all credible voices, including...

I like what I saw out Keon in his limited action. I’m confident our coaches will set him up for success and we have a strong supporting cast, stacked at running back. Remember, we picked up McMillan just days before the season started so there’s always that possibility if necessary. Trey Lowe from ...

The death count, from what I've read, typically spikes 5-10 weeks after the spike in positive tests. That being said, I'm just another of the couple hundred million armchair epidemiologists.

Re: N'Western 10 game- Big 10 only in 2020

Sooner or later we're going to play a top FCS team and lose. There's not that much difference between the TRUE top FCS teams and the middle 40 in FBS. NDSU owns more wins against P5 schools and ranked schools this century than Tulane and at least half of the G5. I really wanted to see them play in E...
