Re: Hullaballoo Opinion

That's one students opinion. Having not been an undergrad for 35 years now, I wouldn't know what the current culture is. I worked, mostly in restaurants, through my four years at Tulane. I didn't live in the "Tulane Bubble", I got to know folks in the community some of whom had nothing to to with Tu...

Re: Play the Freshman Quarterbacks!

Pratt was more coveted out of HS. He transferred, as many of us know, before his Senior year of HS. He left Boca Raton HS to go to Deerfield Beach HS to compete with USM recruit Derohn King whom he beat out. He played at a higher level than Ibieta, and was here (for whatever it was worth) getting ac...

Re: Has Tulane made Fritz soft?

I am so tired of hearing about back to back bowl wins. It just bothers me, mostly because we haven't been to a bowl game that anyone watches since the Hawaii bowl. We've been to three BS bowl games since. Games that would not be around (and may not survive COVID-19) for most of Tulane's football pla...

Re: Wilson Center 30 Year Anniversary

My how time flies. I played many basketball games in Favrot as an undergrad, and can't believe it was 30 years ago that the Wilson Center opened. I was bummed when I was denied entrance on the day they opened Yulman, as I had never really checked it out. If someone has access to it, please post a vi...

Re: Play the Freshman Quarterbacks!

We have to get Pratt some experience and fast. Howard is not the answer, he's basically been bad for two games. I would bench Howard for the first half of the USM game, and if Pratt stinks up the joint see if you can catch lightning in a bottle by putting Howard in. But to give him another start is ...

Re: Has Tulane made Fritz soft?

You mean the next level is not choking? This level is the same or pretty close to some of the worse Tulane football play I have seen over a very long time. Did he choke week one? We all have questions after watching the debacle last week. It doesn't change his coaching abilities one bit. I think he...

Re: Houston - Baylor on Hold

I'm certainly not hoping this happens, I hope we get a full season in. But wouldn't it be ironic if the follow the crowd B1G and PAC 12 were about to start playing games as the other conferences halted their seasons? Would they still start their season (PAC 12 hasn't announced, to my knowledge that ...

Re: Tulane totally collapses-Navy wins 27-24

If Howard lobs the ball to the back corner of the end zone with a little touch, we're up 31-0 at the half, Navy is utterly defeated and has to kick to us to start the 2nd half. We probably win by a score similar to Navy's first game. That pick was disgusting and breathed life into a dead Navy squad....

Re: Rick Dickson Tulsa

Dick Rick is a Tulsa alum, but this could be the death of all Tulsa sports as we know it. It makes you wonder if Tulsa will follow the same path out of the American as UConn took. What a really STUPID move this is! I was told it was Tricky Rick's connections that got us into the AAC. I never though...

Also overlooked the fact that we went a combined 2 of 14 on 3rd and 4th down, including an incredibly bad 1 of 11 on 3rd down. I was shocked when I saw that, right there in the box score (go to the team stats tab and scroll down). https://tulanegreenwave.com/sports/football/stats/2020/south-alabama/...

The outcome of the Navy vs. BYU game motivates the Middies to what will be their best performance of the season.

Tulane 26

I hope to hell I'm wrong.

Re: 2o21 Football recruiting

Keyes had a monster game in his teams first game of the season. I really don’t see us being able to hold onto him Did he grow? Did any of the P5 offers he had have other highly touted QB recruits back away from their commitments? He had no shortage of offers when he committed to us, but rumors had ...

Re: Navy at Tulane preview

Malcolm Perry was what made the Navy offense go the past 3 years. Without him, I expect them to be a shell of what they have been. A lot has been made of the Navy defense against USA and not enough live pre-season tackling, but the USA defensive front totally throttled the Navy running game and our...

Re: College Football Week 1

Being that Howard only has 1 more year, I don't see a QB leaving after this year. Perhaps the non-winner of the Pratt/Ibieta battle for starter next year may eventually leave and follow Hall, if he is somewhere else by then. The QB I referred to in my previous post isn't yet on campus and was much ...

Re: College Football Week 1

Wouldn’t Hall have higher aspirations than USM? For someone coming up through the ranks, I think that would be a pretty good landing spot, given his in-state connections. It's unlikely he's in line for a "P" job at this time. Frankly, after watching the last 5 or 6 times we've taken the field, I fe...

I know Ken N is pissed that air force is playing no one while Navy has a full slate. Obviously this year isn’t about what’s “fair”, but talk about an unfair advantage. I don't know, there's something to be said for having a number of games under your belt, getting battle tested, into a routine, etc...

Make it two straight wins in Lawrence for the Chanticleers. That same Coastal Carolina team two seasons ago beat UAB 47-24, prompting many disparaging remarks on this forum about UAB. I remember warning people that we Tulane fans shouldn't look down our noses at anyone and getting poo-poo'd for it. ...
