Re: Yulman Stadium Upgrades/Improvements

IPF will start in May, once spring semester ends, and be ready for fall practice in August.
Performance Center needs to get the fundraising completed and then start. Guess is late 24/early 25, hopefully in time for 2025 football season, but that may be a little hopeful.

Re: Football Head Coach Jon Sumrall

We have an AD, contrary to what a lot of folks opined, who knows what he is doing, 20+ years in Athletics admin, and plenty of contacts. Thank you Doug for giving up 6 weeks of your life in leading the search to find this man. We have a COO who is solidly behind athletics, served as Interim AD after...

Re: Football Head Coach Jon Sumrall

All of our thanks should go to David Harris (and Doug Hertz for bringing him here) and Patrick Norton, TU COO. Those 2 worked non-stop these past 7-10 days., both in trying to keep Willie and then pivoting to the new coach search/hire.

OUG is dead on. Who promised an announcement by Friday (no one at Tulane)? Who said Sumrall wants the job (no one besides Guerry)? Consider the source.

I'm going to let David Harris do the job, that he has been doing non-stop since Sunday, he was hired to do.

Re: David Harris - New Athletic Director

The bldg going up behind Wilson is the Sports Performance Center. It will satisfy Title IX (new locker rooms/showers for certain womens sports) AND include a much larger weight room for football, huge meeting room/auditorium for football, new dry and wet (ie. hot tubs) training rooms for football, f...

Re: New HC profile

I am hearing Fletcher will finally have his way and Frank Wilson will be our new head coach (just kidding, we need a little levity given this past weekends events).

David Harris is leading the search/making the hire, not the other DH, as was erroneously reported.

Guerry's article is so wrong it's sad that he's our beat writer. He needs some better "sources" and/or quit making up stuff!

Sumrall has SEC dreams and can dominate his conference (with possible exception of JMU if they can keep momentum with new coach)

Re: New HC profile

I love Sumrall but also heard he turned down a chance to interview at Duke. Kinne at Texas St is a young up and comer (although did coach Lindsay Scott at Incarnate Word 😳) with lots of Texas HS contacts and supposed to be offensive genius. Only 34 I think though. I also think Patterson would be a g...

It's a great day to be Green! Lets give SMU a bon voyage loss in their last AAC game while securing back-to-back AAC Championships and NY6 Bowl games.

Re: David Harris - New Athletic Director

Whether you believe it or not, our new AD knows what we need to do to be considered for an invitation to a P5 conference: Fully commit to improving our programs/teams, facilities and fund-raising. It will be up to him and his staff to get the job done. While many on here were not impressed with his ...

Re: Willie Fritz Coaching Watch

Inflatable IPF/Bubble, whatever you want to call it, will be built on the field in front of Reilly and ready for 2024 fall camp. It will be large enough for all practice conditions/scenarios with the exception of punting. If we can raise the necessary funds ($ 50M - $ 70M), Sports Performance Center...

Re: David Harris - New Athletic Director

Yes, I am very happy with the hire. A man I know and trust implicitly, and who bleeds green as much or more than any of us, said that Harris was far and away the best candidate in the process (and was highly praised by all of his prior employers) and is confident he will come in and help us get to t...

Re: New Athletic Director Candidate Thread

- Plenty of quality folks interested in our AD position. And don't ask me to name names, because I will not. I'm trusting the process. - Focus right now is in improving/building training facilities for our student athletes, which is key in recruiting and helping our athletes get better. - Can't spea...

Only Willie knows what he is going to do in the future. If he leaves us at some point, I will shake his hand and thank him for leaving us better than when he got here and making us relevant in college football. He's not only a helluva football coach but an even better person/mentor to these young me...

Re: Tulane EEKS out Win over Rice 30-28

We're up 27-14, and had made consecutive 1st downs to the Rice 41 when Pratt makes a poor decision, misses Brazzell wipe open over the middle, and underthrows into double coverage. Poor decision, poor result. It happens and completely changed the game. He has to be smarter there and knows it. The ti...

Re: New Public Announcement on Infrastucture

I believe this is the announcement we've all been waiting for? Of course, some will opine, it's not enough, too little too late, etc. I beg to differ, but that's just my opinion. http://always.tulane.edu/ And while, yes, it would have been nice to announce this in January 2023, the reality is that a...

Kelly and Jimmy have done a herculean job with FTW and arranging NIL deals for our student athletes. FTW has become one of the largest Collectives of any G5 schools. Besides Kelly & Jimmy, many folks have made the calls, emails, sit downs, etc. to secure donations to fund these FTW/NIL deals. An...

Re: Tulane among a number of schools filing to join the imploding PAC-12

I agree, for decades, we have been our own worst enemy. I truly believe the present administration (President, Provost, BOA and AD/staff) is not a hindrance to our future success athletically and are rattling every cage, reaching out for every possible revenue stream/donor, etc Is it too little, too...

Re: Tulane among a number of schools filing to join the imploding PAC-12

The amount of money being put up by the SMU donors (8-12 boosters totaling roughly $ 275 - $ 300 million) is to cover the following: - loss of AAC TV revenue for 9 years - loss of their share of AAC exit fees from UC, UH & UCF leaving - Their own exit fees to leave AAC - Funding their athletic p...
