Good for him. And I have to imagine Jewett coming back next year also played into his decision to sign.

President Fitts , B of A , it's put up or forever hold your peace time . Make Tulane ATHLETICS relevant and top 30 again .
I know. Hoese coming back with TJ as the coach was a huge mistake Should have signed with the Royals (38th round) for peanuts. Who wants $2.75 million? He's not hungry now.NOLABigSteve wrote: ↑Tue Jun 11, 2019 11:53 am Good for him. And I have to imagine Jewett coming back next year also played into his decision to sign.
TJ might not be the greatest coach but we have seen offensive numbers improve. Now if Gozzo was pitcher, I am with you.
Jewett sems like MD. We'll see some individual development in hitting like Hoese as that is what jewett was known for. He fails when it comes to coaching the team aspect of the game.

Or maybe he saw how shitty the team performed even with all of the drafted players and didn't want to be around anymore. Just as valid.McWave wrote: ↑Tue Jun 11, 2019 1:02 pmI know. Right. That's what I've been saying. It's not a good metric to use. We've had 6 players drafted and not made a Regional when we've had good coaching and when we've had bad coaching. Maybe the scouts saw potential in players that weren't worthy. In FSU's case maybe they missed on talented players.mbawavefan12 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 11, 2019 11:33 pmFSU swept LSu in Baton Rouge in the Super, FSU only had 4 drafted players. Makes you wonder....

One big reason we had 6 drafted is because of Kody. Every MLB team sent a scout out at least once and on most nights there were multiple scouts at every game because of him. So many of our other kids got a chance to be seen whereas that’s not always the case without a 1st rounder on your squad.

Gozzo (Team): BA .218 (.303); SLG% .385 (.518); SO 44 (tied for second); BB 16 (8th); AB 187 (6th)NOLABigSteve wrote: ↑Tue Jun 11, 2019 1:20 pmOr maybe he saw how shitty the team performed even with all of the drafted players and didn't want to be around anymore. So when you say "how shitty team performed" who are you referring to (offensively)?
Pitching Team: ERA 5.74; "shitty team" performance, absolutely!
It's his decision. I wish him the best. Hope he makes the show and will buy a MLB jersey with his name on it when he does.

With a 218 ( 214 ) BA Gozzo definitely a liability . Hard to imagine he will be able to hit his weight professionally .RollWaveRoll wrote: ↑Wed Jun 12, 2019 12:54 pm position players werent the problem. pitching was, mainly bullpen.
