Justin Ibieta
I read where TU just started recruiting him. As he is from Country Day, I assume he is the brother of Jenna Ibieta. Jenna is a freshman setter for TUs volleyball team. It would be a shame if TU just now became aware of him. His mother played VB for LSU and father played baseball for TU, if indeed he is Jenna’s brother. Jenna also attended Country Day.
Great QB. Accounted for 8 TD’s this past weekend. Unfortunately his skill set doesn’t fit our current offense. He’s more of a drop back passer. Big and strong kid. Is able to run through smaller kids. Can throw the ball 75 yards. Multi sport athlete. Besides FB QB, he’s a baseball pitcher, basketball 4 or 5 spot. He’s being recruited by LSU as well. I wish he’d end up here but I don’t see it. Country Day runs a pro style offense to suit his talents. He’s looking at schools that run an offense that fits his skill set.McWave wrote: ↑Mon Nov 26, 2018 11:03 pm I read where TU just started recruiting him. If I had to compare him to another Tulane QB it would be Patrick Ramsey. Similar skill sets.

Sure seems like Will Hall is doing a good job recruiting him.
I hope this doesn't turn into him committing and then Will Hall leaving and he follows Will Hall.
Come to Tulane, Justin. We could have you as our starting QB for four years, if it all worked out.

I have to see more of this kid this year. So far, he seems like a “decent” quarterback. He is a good pitcher, and has a nice jump shot in basketball as well. Let’s see how things fall through this year.

For his sake, I hope there is a way to actively pursue baseball. This young man shouldn't have to decide between baseball/football (conditional and guaranteed contracts) at his age. Wasn't Frank Thomas recruited as a football player at Auburn? From what I understand Pat Dye extended Frank Thomas" football scholly for him to play baseball full time.

It is entirely up to the young man to decide, and it appears from his posts he's chosen football. It may well turn out that he tries to do two sports, but that's not easy these days. I don't think Kyler Murray played college baseball (and NCAA rules may have forbidden it). Remember, these kids are going to college and want more than a certificate of attendance.wave97 wrote: ↑Sat May 18, 2019 7:40 am For his sake, I hope there is a way to actively pursue baseball.
