And, the Houston Baptist RPI as of tonight is, drumroll, an abysmal 238. :afraid:

We should really beat the living bejesus out of these guys, and pity us if we don’t.

I also meant to mention above that conference play starts this weekend. We got our bye the first weekend.

Frankie has been just outstanding. Easily the biggest surprise so far this year. We really don’t have an out in our lineup. It’s the best hitting team I’ve seen in many years. Not many strikeouts either all the guys making contact. Fun baseball team to watch if you like hitting.

We are really doing well at the plate. The line-up is strong up and down the order other than Gozzo at .203.

Yep right after his average went below the Mendoza line. Happy for him.

Fun night at the ballpark Roper struck out 12 and had no walks or hit batters. Hopefully he set the tone for the weekend.

Anyone who listened to Graff's pre-game last night knows HBU has decent Fri and Sun starters. Their problem is hitting more than pitching. I wouldn't expect us to have a 15-10 type game this weekend.

Grant Mathews with the 11th inning walkoff single. 3-2 win. 16-7 record. Gilles’ best outing of the season and very good relief work by Whelan, Campbell, Johnson and Pellerin, who got the win. We go for the sweep tomorrow.

It was good to see Gillies perform like that. He had good stuff and good control. He'll get another chance at a confidence boost next week when we play Cincy. Houston Baptist beat them two out of three. Nice job by Grant. We need to finish the sweep tomorrow.

Houston Baptist have had some good teams in the recent past. I remember them being ranked No. 15 in AP poll not too long ago. Let's sweep!

That was Dallas-Baptist. Houston-Baptist has never been ranked in the NCAA top 25. They have only made one NCAA Baseball Regional in their history and never won a game. They won the 2015 Southland Conference Tournament and received the automatic berth then went 0-2 in the Houston Regional.
Need a sweep. Our RPI has dropped since winning the first two games.

Wave wins 3-1, and sweeps the series.

Man, that sure didn't seem like a bye week. HBU's pitchers were legit. :)

Final: Wave 3, Houston Baptist 1

Wave sweeps Huskies and is now 17 - 7.

I’ll take it, pleasantly surprised for this 2019 season. :D

Nice weekend at the ballpark. Good weather all weekend. Got the sweep. All of our pitchers had good control. Came through in a couple of close games. Good experience to get. would have liked to stomp them all weekend but as said above it's tough to sweep and we did. Base running continues to be a problem. Lots of work to do but we are keeping ourselves in position to get to the post season.
