Potential Men’s Basketball Coaches thread
They may be the only ones interested! If they aren't, who in the hell would be? At this point this season is lost. doesn't matter if Dunleavy, an assistant or Lisa Stockton ran the team. We'll be lucky to win another game. But yes, permanent change, if TD does his job, wouldn't happen mid-season.RobertM320 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 22, 2018 4:40 pmWould they even be interested at this point? We're really in a bind right now, because if you fire Dunleavy, there's no looking for a coach mid-season. You go with an interim. Who would that be?netshorty wrote: ↑Sat Dec 22, 2018 4:26 pm this will be TD's biggest test.
1. must admit he was wrong
2. must do damage control and answer why couldn't an NBA coach of the year be successful at Tulane.
3. must not swing and miss again.
Let's bring back the Posse coaching staff. Carlin Hartman as head cosch and Kim Lewis as director of basketball/recruiting. .
Stewart in the interim.

The Furman coach was born in New Orleans, according to his wikipedia page. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Richey

Besides names like Kim Lewis and Carlin Hartman these are mostly a bunch of retreads that people are suggesting. They might have had success at one time but nothing recent and would be a disaster for Tulane. Just admit like me that you don’t follow the top head coaches at the smaller schools or know the names of the top assistant coaches at the big schools. Hopefully someone on here who is informative on this subject can give us a credible list of names. So far I haven’t seen it.

It's an internet bulletin board. You're going to get all sorts of ridiculous and passionate posters. Remember at the mid season mark, many were calling for Fritz's head. No, most of us don't follow lesser mid-major basketball programs or know who the up and coming coaches are. But in this conference, we better get someone that can recruit AND coach. Someone who's built a program from the ground level up. The shelf will likely be bare as many players will transfer with the change.

and considering their record, is that a bad thing ?DfromCT wrote: ↑Sun Dec 23, 2018 4:38 am It's an internet bulletin board. You're going to get all sorts of ridiculous and passionate posters. Be a Hero Today.... Adopt a Shelter Pet... The Beatles once sang "Can't Buy Me Love"... I disagree, unconditional Love can be bought, for the nominal adoption fee at your local Pet Shelter !

Fritz was 2-5 with losses to a decent Wake, 11 win UAB, 10 win Cincy, and 11 win Ohio State. Fritz got his ass beat by actual teams.DfromCT wrote: ↑Sun Dec 23, 2018 4:38 am It's an internet bulletin board. You're going to get all sorts of ridiculous and passionate posters. Dunleavy is losing to random SWAC teams.

Greg Gary. I think Kim Lewis could have been the best of all time if not for that huge injury he sustained playing Indiana at the Temple that Kinght built.

I don't disagree one iota. But that doesn't change the fact that MANY posters on this board were calling for Fritz's job at 2-5.oliveandblue wrote: ↑Sun Dec 23, 2018 8:42 amFritz was 2-5 with losses to a decent Wake, 11 win UAB, 10 win Cincy, and 11 win Ohio State. Agree that he'd be one to look at. He was born here but must have moved very early on to Lake Charles as the Advocate article leading up to their game against LSU referred to him as a Lake Charles native.ajcalhoun wrote: ↑Sat Dec 22, 2018 5:09 pm The Furman coach was born in New Orleans, according to his wikipedia page. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Richey

Agreed.
