They are picked 7th in the Sunbelt. They just lost to UNO 71-60. Their new coach was at Nicholls St. the last two years. The game is at 3 and is on ESPN+.

Both of my Alma maters going at it today. Even though the game is in Mobile, I think the Wave should beat the Jags by 4-5.

Now Tulane is favored by one.

The Wave has better talent but I like the Jags coach in the long run.

Nice that the TGW site put Cameron Gallic's pic up as promo for S. Alabama game. I would love to see Coach give him a few minutes of floor time promo today also.

Not much of a crowd. Maybe 20 students.
300 others.
Maybe a dozen greenies

Ugly turnovers. Lazy passes. Below average team. 21-29 them

Dominated by a bottom half sun belt team.
Time to cut bait on dunleavy.
30-47 half.
The team is bad.

They don't even try to play defense. Effort level is also nowhere near good enough. They play with no spirit or intensity.

Maybe Coach Dummy can try the high school ranks since the NBA and college hasn’t worked out for him.

Does this team even practice?
Dunleavy should just resign.

Final 81-60 USA. As a comparison UNO beat them by 11pts.

This.
No energy, no confidence and bad fundamentals. The talent is much better than the results. Open threes for USA all day. The team just looks lethargic.
Looks like MD has decided to play more of the younger guys. To no avail. This is ruff to watch.
The big question is MD just collecting a paycheck? Devlin is small but nice. Have a solid practice facility and offer a nice education with a solid conference. There is no excuse for TU to be playing like this in bball.

To be fair, that game was at UNO. I think the Jags would beat them at home, but no excuse to lose by 21 especially when the Wave has better overall talent.

The pieces are in place for Tulane to have a successful program. It’s time to hire a winning coach for once. Since PC left, they’ve hired either assistants from big schools or average mid major coaches or a never was like Coach Dummy.

Tulane is playing in a holiday basketball tournament in New Jersey (at great expense). There are 353 basketball teams ranked by RPI
The 4 teams in the tournament are:
Tulane
Ala. A&M ranked 352
Towson ranked 297
LaSalle ranked 256 and currently 0-10.
This is the kind of schedule that kills a conference RPI. The combined records of the 3 teams are 1-22.
But I guess it meets our needs. ( a win or 2)

Im not sure about that. UNO dominated them in the second half. They are better than USA. Of course UNO dominated us last time we played and are better than us as well.

This team has no point guard. Without that, it's hard to judge the rest of the pieces because they can't get down the floor and can't get the offense set up. Cornish is an absolute turnover machine. Barrett may be a legit point guard at some point, but he isn't now. They hoped Ona Embo would be ready for the start of the season, but he STILL isn't healed after 9 games.

ROE is ok but he is far from a stud D-1 point guard. There would not be any noticeable difference in performance with him playing.

Regardless of your opinion of ROE, he is an experienced point guard. Right now, there is absolutely nothing. It's like trying to play football with no QB... at all. It's impossible to run any offense because there is no one to run it. It may not be much better, but it will give a correct assessment.

We do have a point guard out there despite your opinion. We do have a correct assessment at this point. We have a poorly coached team that also doesn't have much talent. Like I said there are no excuses for these piss poor performances. If someone is waiting on ROE they may well have to wait till next year.
