Bad setup for the Wave this weekend.
Coming off a rare road win and going on the road vs a team that just got blown out. South Florida looking to bounce back from its only loss on the season.
USF 51
Tulane 28

This sums up my feelings exactly. We'll be playing a 7-1 team on the road that is angry and has something to prove. Even though USF allowed 42 pts by UMass and 30 by UConn, Tulane doesn't have an established record of stringing together "must-win" games...particularly road wins. I'm afraid there will be no surfing for Coach Willie this weekend unless he makes the short drive to Clearwater after the game.
USF 42
Greeenies 30
Amazing what pressure can do. Everyone had been clamoring for Dauphine to get the ball much more and also for him and Bradwell to get the bulk of the carries. It finally happened and we get a win. The staff finally got over the belief that his pass blocking ,or lack thereof, should prevent him from seeing the field more. When you have a playmaker like him just do it. They did it and you'd have to hope they keep doing it.
Another thing we have going for us this late in the season is the lack of injuries. Other teams like USF haven't been that lucky. Also we commit a lot of penalties but so does USF.
This is all for shits and giggles anyway so I'll keep riding the Wave:
Tulane 24
USF 17

These seem like attainable goals: cut our dumb penalties in half and don’t drop passes. Continue to play Dauphine and Bradwell. We do this and suddenly our offense is humming and we win this game. I know optimism has been exhausted in Tulane Nation, but it just seems so damn simple.

Greenies pull the upset and win 34 to 28. McMillan starting at QB AND additional feeds to Dauphine and Bradwell are the difference makers from the under-performance in the first half of the season. Can't wait to see Fritz crowd-surfing again!

If we run the damned ball down their throats (USF is 11th in the AAC in rush defense) maybe we stand a chance.

I do find it interesting that several professional gamblers have posted Tulane +6 as their lock of the week. Stanford Steve on the Scott van Pelt show and Todd Furman on “Lock it In” picked Tulane to win outright.

I'm convinced that these people don't watch Tulane. Nobody who watches us would expect consecutive season-saving road wins. It could happen, but by no means should it be a "lock".

USF 36, Tulane 30.
Or, they did watch USF play Tulsa and Houston the past 2 weeks?oliveandblue wrote: ↑Fri Nov 02, 2018 7:46 pmI'm convinced that these people don't watch Tulane. Nobody who watches us would expect consecutive season-saving road wins. It could happen, but by no means should it be a "lock".

If they watched us "play" Tulsa, they would have picked USF. That was one of the ugliest football games I've watched, and both teams looked inept.

USF had more trouble than we did. IDK.
We've actually looked really up for it in conference play. If this team takes care of business in non-conference the mood in here is a lot better right now.
Houston 57, USF 36 last Saturday was about as ugly as anything even we have suffered against the Cougars. That game was nowhere as close as the score.

Can someone post the video of Fritz crowd-surfing?! Is that acceptable this week?Wavetrader wrote: ↑Thu Nov 01, 2018 4:08 pm Greenies pull the upset and win 34 to 28.
