Now on par with Stanford and Vandy. Meanwhile Tulane falls further behind. Free tuition for families making up to $130K and families making $130K-$200K can now get half of their tuition paid.

was not that long ago that Rice was tuition free, for all students who were admitted regardless of family income
Be a Hero Today.... Adopt a Shelter Pet... The Beatles once sang "Can't Buy Me Love"... I disagree, unconditional Love can be bought, for the nominal adoption fee at your local Pet Shelter !

Rice added tuition in the 1950s, I believe, and this new change is now the closest that they have been to being tuition free since that time.

It's true that this would further demolish Tulane baseball, but Tulane has so many concerns and so comparatively little money that there is nothing really to say or do.

I did not know for certain but I thought it was the early 60's when they began tuition...the charging of tuition was also the downfall of their once proud football program..ole Jess Neeley would bring in about 90 kids a year !!!

I stand corrected - it looks like 1966.

i really hope fitts is raising lots of money to add to the endowment. we need a billion dollar injection to the total asap. We are currently 1.2 $B and ranked 75th, Vandy is 4.1 $B and ranked 24th, and Rice is 5.8 $B and ranked 20th.

Rice has 7000 students, Vandy has 12,500 students, we have 13,500 students. Not only do they have higher endowments, their buying power per student is even greater as they have less students.

I may be incorrect, but I think Rice has the smallest enrollment of any School at the FBS /D1 level
