Yet they have, according to the article, one of the best CB tandems in the ACC. And a D line that is constantly in the opponents backfield. They gave up a ton of points so something has to give.

Ya give up a half hundred to a A&M offense ,that was terrible, and you have a great defense...

Someone named winwave posted this comment, to correct an erroneous comment someone made about Sandy Barbour:
She did hire him. Sam Scelfo went to Cowen's house and stayed there convincing him to hire Chris because he would stay. That's why you see RR in a green coat and tie watching the PC from the balcony.
Sandy did offer the job to RR, but Sam Scelfo did NOT lobby for his brother to get the job. As I've been told by many reliable sources, Scelfo urged Cowen to NOT hire his brother as HC, telling him Rich Rod earned the right to be named the next Head Coach. Cowen (major Richard that he is and was) went ahead and hired Scelfo because he was cheap (and Cowen didn't want to pay a football coach more than he earned) and Scelfo said he'd stay indefinitely. Too bad he wasn't nearly the coach RR was.

You have your brothers confused. Frank did want RR to get it and said so. Brother Sam was head of the GWC. and did lobby Cowen till he convinced him to hire Chris b/c he would stay.

I didn't realize both Bradwell and Dauphine were banged up. Will they be ready by Thursday? I am excited to see Huderson get a chance to show what he can do.

You both have it partially right. I was there working in the department. Frank wanted RR to get it. Sam was President of the Alumni Association and did indeed lobby Cowen for Chris to get the job. It was internally an understanding within the department that the job was RR which is why he arrived the following morning with a green jacket. The "midnight" hour call of CS was all Cowen. Sandy put on a good face even though she was undermined by Cowen. Within a year, she was let go.

And, you could argue that Sandy has had a better career since than Cowen had finishing his career at Tulane under dark clouds of his own creation. Let history show that Cowen lied to the BOA made a HUGE mis-judgement with regard to the importance of being in a "power" conference and cost Tulane hundreds of millions of dollars. He also covered up operating losses of $15-20 million/year (which would have been covered had Tulane (instead of say, TCU) became a P5 member).

First time ever, we're wearing blue jerseys and blue pants. Not a big fan of this, especially for what could be a pivotal game in the direction of our program. Save the goofy unis for Nicholls or UAB.
