Hang tight. In less than 5 days Ken Trahan is relaunching a new site dedicated to that coverage.

a west side upper deck would make a world of difference.....I still would kike to see an inflatable partial roof over Yulman, covering the stands, enclosing the noise and light issues..leave the middle open like the original Texas Stadium so God can see his favorite team...this type of rrof was used with success a the metro dome and in the case of NOLA have it so it can be deflated and retracted...now you have a recruit and chick magnet
You can't have an inflatable roof with a hole in the middle tmk. The bubble doesn't cover the stand either, it's inflated only over the field.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTul1MklyTw
you can design any inflatable object you want as long as the supports and seams are in the correct place...as an example please see the link provided...and these are made especially for the NIMBY's

In the same vein, is there any info on who is going to replace Mr. Guillory for Tulane coverage?

Hadn't heard yet. We'll probably get a newbie part time writer or none at all. Remember LSU warrants at least 3-4 lol.

I hear a lot of people saying we should have told NIMBYs to f* off (I 100% agree we should have put up more resistance), but if it was that easy, the University would have done it (my inside sources have said time and time again that ALL options were heavily vetted and researched including telling the NIMBYs to F off but the law was not on our side). Tulane holds a lot of clout, especially as the largest employer in New Orleans, however, your clout only gets you so far when the law favors the rights of NIMBYs / homeowners. I would love to see a much bigger stadium, however, if I were left with the options of having a smaller stadium or none at all, I'd choose the smaller one. However, times are changing, Susan Guidry, the NIMBYs council member is going to be gone so who knows, we might be able to get an expansion on our stadium. If there was a good time to push for expansion, now would be the time.
I would have loved to see the University hosting a voter registration for ALL students. Yes, they come from all over the country and all over the world, but as students they live, at least while they're enrolled, in New Orleans. Threatening to have 12-13,000 votes going against a council member would have had her thinking twice. It's a much larger constituency than the NIMBYs. There's precedent in other college towns as well.

NIMBY's bought their homes knowing where they were located. It's not like "the Boulevard" was any less prestigious when Tulane stadium existed. The NIMBY's simply played the game better than the Cow/Dick administration.

I'm curious as to what the population of "Metropolitan Waco" is compared to "Metropolitan New Orleans."

I live in Williamson County the county south of Bell...we are one of, if not the fastest growing counties in the US...Georgetown, TX (Williamson County) located about 75 miles south of Waco and about 40 miles north of Austin..until just recently, Georgetown was the fastest growing city in the US. I can get to Waco faster than driving down I-35 to Austin

Great to see a big turnout. Perhaps the fan base expects another step forward, as we all do this year The scholarship award is a big deal. It's basically giving a $60k prize to a player that's been a walk on.

Each year, that is the best thing that happens leading into camp! I'd like to see/hear coach Fritz's entire discussion about Brian. Imagine the phone call home to mom and dad telling them they're off the hook for $60k this year. Congrats!

Does anyone have time to post a recap of what the coaches discussed?

Not much insight from coach Fritz. Mostly introduced his staff and spouses along with a group of players. They had an auction as well.
Overall a good time and well attended.

Awesome story. I love the call he has with his dad, it evokes a lot of emotion. I don’t know if it was incompetence or taking another shot at us but the TP writer says it was announced in front of “. . . 12 other senior football players, the full 10-man assistant coaching staff and several other team supporters at a fundraising event at Boomtown Hotel. . .” I assume there were more then “several” team supporters in the room ? Couldn’t they have simply said a room full of supporters at boomtown ? A crowd full of supporters ? We know which writer didn’t go to Tulane . . . .

That's getting a little "picayune" IMHO! The fact that TP gave it any coverage is a step up from what's been happening lately.

Troy did make a comment on the lack of media coverage. He said the media that does cover us during the year will get credentials to our bowl game. The others will be evaluated.

$20 registration online or at the door. 90 people pre-registered so far.

Let's make sure I have this correct... I have to pay 20.00 to attend and give them my thoughts...they should be paying me to attend, much less give them my thoughts !!!!
I think most of the $20 covers the food and open bar.
Aren't drinks normally free at casinos? So that's really $20 for crappy westbank casino food?
Yes if you are playing. They are using Boomers Restaurant so there's probably a charge to tie that entire room up.
Why not hold this event at the Glazier club...give some exposure to the Fans and charge 20.00 for the food and have a cash bar available...this seems like the logical way too get more fans involved and exposed to the stadium.... memories of the good ole days when I would donate all of the food items for these type of events
Someone read your suggestion.

Why are we still talking about this ? Lets ask the question this thread pertains too. . . Can we have a summary of what was discussed tonight at the glazer club ?! Many thanks !

Also if the discussion was building a second tier on Yulman ill happily eat my words. Lets start by packing Yulman and go from there.
