Welcome Mr. James! I won't hold it against you for saying "The University of Tulane", but you'll learn soon enough that it's Tulane University. He's 6'2" at about 233 lbs. He's from China Springs, Texas (maybe Golf can give us the scoop on his school)
Here's his HUDL: http://www.hudl.com/profile/4132888/tyrick-james
Initial impressions is that he is a faster TE and good at running after the catch. He is also a big target in the red zone with some pretty decent hands for catching the ball. His blocking can certainly use some improvement. For my Saints fans, he plays a lot like a Colby Fleener type of TE.
Mr. James is a 3 star on 24/7: http://247sports.com/Player/Tyrick-James-90816
He's a 3 star on Scout: http://www.scout.com/player/tyrick-james-90816
3 star on rivals: https://n.rivals.com/content/prospects/ ... mes-176727
NR on ESPN: http://www.espn.com/college-sports/foot ... rick-james
It's safe to assume he's an overall 3 star recruit.
His only P5 offer is from K State with tons of offers from ULM, Texas State, etc. ROLL DAMN WAVE!

Nice article from Waco Tribune referencing signee Tyrick James, TE from China Spring. Seems he's got some speed, because although he played TE, he actually had 90 carries. Found it interesting.

Be a Hero Today.... Adopt a Shelter Pet... The Beatles once sang "Can't Buy Me Love"... I disagree, unconditional Love can be bought, for the nominal adoption fee at your local Pet Shelter !

This interview was after his junior year. He impressed a lot of schools and had visits at a number of powerhouses. He seems to be a polite and intelligent young man.
Tyrick is also a starter on China Springs basketball team. Here's an interesting quote (from less than a week ago) from David Ellis, his basketballl coach after the team suffered a loss to #19 ranked Connally:
Tyrick is also a starter on China Springs basketball team. Here's an interesting quote (from less than a week ago) from David Ellis, his basketballl coach after the team suffered a loss to #19 ranked Connally:
James, who will attend Tulane on a football scholarship, struggled with foul trouble on the night and never really found his rhythm, finishing with only five points. With 5:17 remaining in the game, he was whistled for an offensive foul – his fourth – on a power move in the post, then was subsequently tagged with a technical foul for his fifth personal after disputing the call.
“He got frustrated,” Ellis said. “Kids are going to feel slighted, and Tyrick being such a physical specimen, I think sometimes he’s looked at as he’s the one who committed the foul just because he’s so thick and big. And honestly it frustrated me, because I thought a couple (of the calls) were some hacks. And then frustration just compounds itself, and it leaked into his defense.”
Sounds like a tough guy. We can use all of them we can get.
