Great news. Even if State of Tulane recruiting does not exist today restoring the Catholic League pipeline to Tulane especially from Jesuit is a critical first step.

How does the baseball recruiting stack up? Is Coach Jewitt getting it done on the recruiting front this soon?

Baseball is not going to release the final list until all recruits are signed. Could be some issues with getting the JUCO'S credits qualified

In volleyball we signed a member of theTexas state 6A team and the Louisiana state 1A team

Dec 14 is the first day for JUCO transfers and early enrollment high school to sign their NLI.
Coach Fritz has been on the road visiting plenty JUCO players.
Hopefully it pays off for us

Wednesday, December 14th...a day that will live in Tulane History....fyi..."infamy" was a last minute change in FDR's address...it was originally "a date that will live in history"...."infamy" was used, because it sounded more sinister, at a time when many Americans were isolationist and had vivid memories of WW1...a War, that many believed, America should have avoided

We, Louisiana, are trying to get more and more Catholic District kids----I think we are the largest Catholic public school in the country----Had about 25 in each of the last 2 years from Jesuit and I think about 60 plus from BM---A bunch are in our growing Engineering programs that continue to win international honors!!

In addition to having ZERO RELEVANCE TO THIS THREAD, you mis-name your university. It is the University of Louisiana AT Lafayette, aka U-La-La. Again, though, your post has absolutely no relevance to this thread. Have fun counting the Catholics at other public schools. I'd be willing to bet that Michigan and UCF have at least twice as many as U-La-La.

PS: Who cares?

I think to be honest, LSU probably has more Catholic District kids than UL-L does. And its definitely not the largest Catholic public school in the country. I'd be willing to bet there's at least one or two in the Boston area with more Catholics as well. Pretty much every one I know from Rummel, Jesuit, BM, St. Aug, etc, went to either LSU or UNO, if they didn't go to Tulane or another private school.

Yes we have gotten off subject
Today is an important day for Tulane football. Coach Fritz and his assistants have hit the recruiting trail hard since the season ended and today they can start signing the JUCO transfers and early enrollment high schoolers
One signee can't wait to put his name on his NLI

Has anyone heard when baseball plans to release the names of their signees?
I have heard the number can be as high as 20 with many JUCOs

Fritz awaits word on early signees.

http://www.theadvocate.com/new_orleans/ ... c0d88.html

An interesting note from the article.

A few players not coming back.
Fritz said Tulane had room for 25 to 27 players in its signing class, a result of the normal attrition that occurs at the end of a new coach’s first year.

Wide receiver Trey Scott, linebacker Eric Bowie and defensive tackle Eric Bell, all of whom had eligibility left, no longer are listed on the roster.

Sources told The Advocate that three players who would be fifth-year seniors next fall — offensive lineman Kenneth Santa Marina, wide receiver Tristan Cooper and fullback Sergio Medina — also likely will not be back.

“We have some guys who have the opportunity to graduate in May,” Fritz said. “If they want to continue playing someplace (else), they can. It’s really a win-win for them, and it opens up some roster spots for guys who are going to be able to step in and play.”

Scott, a true junior, caught two passes this year. Bowie, a third-year sophomore, had 14 tackles. Santa Marina lost his starting job at right tackle late in the season.
Fritz confirmed Tuesday that freshman Darius Bradwell, who played two games at quarterback early in the year, would remain at running back after moving there for the UConn finale.

“He’s embraced it and he’s excited about it,” Fritz said. ”It will be a good opportunity for him.”
