Just another sign of today's recruitment process Commit to one school until a better offer comes alongRobertM320 wrote:And he's decommitted.

These kids should look up the definition of commitment
A "promise" to do or give something
A "promise" to be loyal to someone or something
Obviously someone has gotten to him

If and when Tulane ever becomes relevant, this will change, but, until that time, this is par for the course.
Also, it's tough when consensus 2* recruits are decommitting from your AAC program to go somewhere else.

However, we also don't know if there's other issues. Is he not making grades for example? There was a RB that we had committed early on last year, A J Walker from Alabama. If I remember correctly, he was from the same school as Ty Pigrome, the QB that went to Maryland. Walker committed, and then decommitted later. He's currently playing at Dodge City Community College. If we lose one 2* and replace him with another 2*, is it really that big a deal?

Well, two players at the same position may be both rated 2*s, but they are generally rated as 2*s for different reasons - measurements, speed, decision making ability, strength, level of competition, etc., so, if one assumes that Fritz's staff knows what is needed from recruits in order for their scheme to work effectively, then it could be a decently sized deal. Also, it seems hard enough to get recruits to commit to Tulane in the first place. On the other hand, tons of players have Tulane offers (293 on 247 Sports), so who knows if Fritz's team has evaluated each of them to an extent necessary to know whether they would be a good fit for their system.RobertM320 wrote:However, we also don't know if there's other issues. That's the problem with today's generation. They have no filter, and no thoughts of anything but the here and now. It never crosses their mind that what they say today may come back to bite them in six months. I'd like to find who writes these commitment posts for them, because its pretty obvious that most of them aren't very genuine. They just say what they think they're expected to say, because everyone else says it. For instance, do you really think he gave it "long thought" and discussed this with his "coaches and family"? Sort of like the receiver that went to Texas Tech last year. He was all in for Tulane, until that P5 offer came along. The offer was only a few days before signing day, but he gave it "long thought" before committing to TT. Yeah, right.Bigschtick wrote:Guess he was not all that "extremely blessed"!
