A big welcome to recruit #8 Mr. Charlie Ryan D/E, OLB from Montgomery, Alabama. He's 6'4, 252 lbs.

He has offers from Army, Jacksonville State, Navy, Toledo, App. State, and more. What is interesting to note is that with so many offers you would think he would be some what rated, but it looks like he's flying under the radar.

He's not rated by scout: http://www.scout.com/player/217739-char ... recruiting

Not rated by 247: http://247sports.com/player/charlie-ryan-46041493

Couldn't find a rivals page for him.

Here's his HUDL: http://www.hudl.com/profile/7534691/charlie-ryan

Fritz is definitely putting an emphasis on recruiting his defensive line. Roll DAMN Wave!

Be a Hero Today.... Adopt a Shelter Pet... The Beatles once sang "Can't Buy Me Love"... I disagree, unconditional Love can be bought, for the nominal adoption fee at your local Pet Shelter !

Good motor, good raw instincts. Coach Speer & Coach Peoples can polish this young man up to be an impressive diamond.

What stands out to me is he's a sure tackler, wrapping up guys low.

And that's a skill that seems instinctive to him. I often complain about our DB's tackling high and having stronger RB's and WR's bounce off them and pick up huge chunks of yardage after initial contact. I cannot remember if this improved last year or not (there were too many other things to give me heartburn).

He's going to need to improve his reaction to getting off at the snap. The size is there and once he gets going he moves well. As for our tackling it improved noticeably last year due to the tackling drills we worked on every day.
