I'm with you on this.greenphantom wrote:I wonder if Merritt really chose Ark St over Tulane. I was surprised we were recruiting him considering he’s already been at 2 FBS schools and Last Chance U. He was kicked off Texas A&M’s team amid very serious allegations. I just don’t see Tulane would have really let him enroll.

Good to see us getting some players off that list again.

My question was is he here for the spring, or not until summer?winwave wrote:Daniels will be here. They had moved Ledford to WR. Lots of reps to be had.

Sorry I wasn't clearer. Yes he's here for the spring.

Big visit over the weekend:
His stock has been falling fast but he at one point had offers from Georgia, GT, Kentucky, Louisville, Mississippi State, Mizzou, UNC, Ole Miss, Tennessee. One of the top available defensive linemen in the South has set a pair of visits, a source tells 247Sports.
Montgomery (Ala.) Lanier senior Alfred Thomas, the No. 21 overall prospect in the Yellowhammer State per 247Sports, will head to Tulane for his next official visit. The trip to New Orleans will begin this weekend for the 6-foot-1, 270-pound talent.
The three-star, who was a first-team All-State selection in Alabama's second-highest classification in 2017, will also make a trip to UCF just before national signing day. The final official visit will take place beginning February 2, just five days before pen meets paper and prospects can make their intentions official.

There's another commit for you. Keitha Jones, a 3 star WR/S from Port Arthur Memorial. He committed to SMU in August, but took his official visit this weekend to SMU, then decommits 3 days later? Curious. Not a great list of offers other than SMU. ULL, SELA, New Mexico,

I would imagine some offers were pulled and some players felt more comfortable with staffs that had been recruiting them long before the new staff at SMU was put together.billow wrote:billow wrote:Enjoyed another commitment but still haven’t seen a Roll Wave out of Port Arthur? There were a few decommitments from SMU this weekend. Were offers pulled?

247 sports just bumped Dorian Camel up to a 4-star. Also, uncommitted Tulane target Joseph Norwood.

Currently, according to 247sports. Considering our best year ever was a 0.8003 rating, I think we're doing ok.

No new QB.
Despite the departure of quarterbacks Johnathan Brantley and Khalil McClain after the season and Lindsey Scott's decision to sign with Missouri, do not look for Tulane to add a quarterback on Wednesday.
