Its some of both. If you look at 247, our composite is .8195, and that's before they remove Josh Quiett from the mix. We'll be over .8200 at that point. Considering that last year was .7855 and the highest its EVER been since they started their composite ratings in 2000 or so was .8003, this is a HUGE improvement in quality from past classes. However, if you look at Rivals, you'll see that our average recruit is 2.27, which is lower than the other schools around us in ranking, so the number of recruits is inflating our ranking somewhat.Show Me wrote:The ranking seems good from here but I want to see its if based more on quantity then quality.
Regardless, there's no way you can say this isn't a vast improvement from anything you've seen in the past 15+ years.

President Fitts , B of A , it's put up or forever hold your peace time . Make Tulane ATHLETICS relevant and top 30 again .
A more intelligent response would have been Laughing But Serious (LBS). WF is more than holding his own against the upper tier of the AAC which was a reasonable expectation and hope for WF after this only his second season; WF is doing it!tpstulane wrote:No but I can see how it could look like that in that context.Show Me wrote:LBS? And as you recruit better players, this is how you end up with space for them. WR Chris Johnson is transferring. Its pretty obvious with the emergence of Mouney and the new recruits coming in, that Johnson was slipping down the chart.

Commit only until they sign that NLI.
Be a Hero Today.... Adopt a Shelter Pet... The Beatles once sang "Can't Buy Me Love"... I disagree, unconditional Love can be bought, for the nominal adoption fee at your local Pet Shelter !

In front of a packed stadium against quality opponents. Also these small towns might be more affordable to visit and appeal to the mom's more than NO.golfnut69 wrote:Best of luck to him in scenic Columbia, Mizzou.... mom and dad are going to love the road trips to see ya playtpstulane wrote:https://twitter.com/simirollin/status/9 ... 5748915200

What quality opponents? They're in a division with Vanderbilt, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Big names doesn't equal quality opponents.Jaxwave wrote:In front of a packed stadium against quality opponents. Well, next year Mizzou hosts Georgia and visits Alabama. Is that enough quality for you?RobertM320 wrote: What quality opponents? They're in a division with Vanderbilt, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Big names doesn't equal quality opponents.

OK, so we lost a 2 star running back, truly the end of the world?tpstulane wrote:https://twitter.com/simirollin/status/9 ... 5748915200

And, both Georgia and Alabama will destroy and humiliate ole Mizzou.ajcalhoun wrote:Well, next year Mizzou hosts Georgia and visits Alabama. Probably be upgraded to a 3 star now that he's committed to an SEC school...Wave755 wrote:OK, so we lost a 2 star running back, truly the end of the world?tpstulane wrote:https://twitter.com/simirollin/status/9 ... 5748915200

As opposed to Tulsa, SMU, Houston, Memphis etc. And they don't strictly play divisional opponents. This year, for example, they played Auburn, Georgia, Florida and SC. I cannot blame the young man for wanting to play in the SEC. I just hope for his sake he gets a chance to do so.

How will the early signing day be handled? Will Fritz hold a press conference tomorrow to talk about the signees. Is there a signing party (too close to the holidays) or wait until February to celebrate the class of 2018.
Apparently not. This is all so new no one was sure how it would turn out. Now that it appears Wednesday will be the big day that may change in the future.

Don't you realize that some on this board will b!t@# and moan and blame the staff for not being able to hold on to a 2 star player (this is no dig at said player) but perhaps the kid *gasp* changed his mind or that our staff has someone else in the works and encouraged said player to look elsewhere.Wave755 wrote:OK, so we lost a 2 star running back, truly the end of the world?tpstulane wrote:https://twitter.com/simirollin/status/9 ... 5748915200

Remember on this board if you don't know 100% of the facts you blame the coaching staff and the university....

Matt Forte was a 2 star. I’m sure if he was committed WF didn’t want to lose him.

I haven't seen anyone yet bitching and moaning about not holding on to Bakare. Personally, I'm disappointed that we lost him because I felt he was an under the radar type that would have done well here. But I'm not bitching and moaning about it. I've always felt there's enough kids that want to be here, no reason to wish for one that obviously doesnt. Thats why what happens to Lindsey Scott doesn't bother me. He's made it pretty obvious that we were only a fall back. I'm happy with the QBs we have.Dupergreenie wrote:Don't you realize that some on this board will b!t@# and moan and blame the staff for not being able to hold on to a 2 star player (this is no dig at said player) but perhaps the kid *gasp* changed his mind or that our staff has someone else in the works and encouraged said player to look elsewhere.Wave755 wrote:OK, so we lost a 2 star running back, truly the end of the world?tpstulane wrote:https://twitter.com/simirollin/status/9 ... 5748915200

Speaking of Missouri they have also offered Scott.
